hmmm I know what you're getting at, but I prefer it the way it is just now. alot of English clubs have almost exactly the same style of websites and just gets a bit boring and doesn't really seem like their website and all gets a bit same-y.

once the design of a site is done (can make really basic ones on your own) and hosting (which again if you shop around can be very minimal) you're basically looking for someone or some people to run the site as the main expense.

website's are fast becoming the way alot of people find out about a place or a company for the first time, so I'd rather have the Cowden site for example the way it is that has it's own look and design, which accomodates alot of different types of Cowden news stories aswell as promoting hospitality packages and the Cowden lottery, etc. than something that was the same as every other team. and with things like SFL TV it shows the footage from the almost all the games going on for all the fans to see anyway.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the Football League must have some sort of deal with the company to set up the clubs websites. As you say its all the same template with the clubs filling in the info. I also believe that all the clubs have a full time webmaster to update them as well :o
The likes of Cowden and Dumbarton do well to maintain their sites on a regular basis with supporters willing to do the various jobs for the love of helping their clubs.
As mentioned by others Cowden have never been better off media wise. Website looks good and is getting even better with your match videos and interviews, while for the Hibs game we managed to get our programme up to 44 pages the biggest its ever been.

Edited to add
Better mention our twitter updates and face book as i've just seen our official tweeter looking at this.

The matchday programme, like the website, is a classy production, and involves a lot of hours of voluntary work - thanks to Andy and David on the prog and Neil (with great film content from Ross) on the website. I can't remember a time when there was so much fan involvement in the running of the club in every aspect. This is being matched by the commitment of the management team, and the players on the park.

I know what you're saying here, but the wording made me laugh... I've got this picture in my head of Cameron's team-talk - "Guys, the programme is really good this week, we're going to have to up our game today!"

Before anyone else says it, I assume last Saturday's programme was quite a good one. :(

This is true Ron from the boardroom all the way down supporters are doing their bit with various things to keep the club they love going.

There's a rather in-depth preview of the Stenny game up on the website with admission prices, form, top scorers, the works! Wonder if they have been reading this topic...

There's now a story up with the situation re the game tomorrow, saying that the game should go ahead but they'll update the site should there be an inspection. Don't know if it's just a coincedence or not but if they have acted after the comments on here then fair play - just hope they keep it up as slowly but surely the supporters were relying on the facebook page for updates which shouldn't be the case.

Maybe complacency had set in. Hopefully , as you say, they keep it up !

Just goes to show that message boards do have their place !!

Glad to see that my discussion topic has had some success. :D The only downside is that of our league there has been most response from Dumbarton, Cowdebeath and Brechin. 1 remark from an Airdrie and and an Arbroath supporter. Does this mean that the five teams whose fans have not responded are either satisfied with their website (I expect this not to be the case) or just down't look at their team's or other team's websites. :(
