After last years successful season I thought Arthurlie would really kick on this year and challenge for the league! They also signed lots of quality players in the summer to enhance their chances and I backed them to win the league. Unfortunately I've been succumbed to watching benburbs up and down season and not managed to get along to Barrhead to see Arthurlie in action so can any of the Arthurlie fans on here give me reasons why they are struggling and made me lose more money to Mr William Hill!!!

Have to say it's mystifying to see both Arthurlie and Pollok doing so poorly (well okay, not so much Pollok as everyone knows they've not had their troubles to seek).

Having seen Arthurlie play at Beechwood a couple of weeks back they were very impressive.

But it seems as if they are very unpredictable as the talent is there.

They were very poor on Saturday but then I would say it was up their with the, if not the, best we've played all season.

They have a strong squad of individuals on paper but didn't seem to be a team. I was very surprised at Bradley not starting as he was superb when he came on.

Marks looked dangerous but the lad Tiny didn't do much and I wasn't that impressed with their midfield. Thought McLean terrorised their back line as well.

Sandy's jacket might be about to fall off the shoogly nail!

Should have added at the back they did look poor although they do have one of the best goalkeepers in the league in Keith Ross.

Keith had to go off injured at the start of the 2nd half on Saturday with what looked like a re-occurence of his knee injury. Someone did mention it was his hamstring though. Either way he could be out for a wee while.

Some of our football has been a joy to watch this season but when we are bad it is putrid stuff. If Sandy cant get the players to perform he could be under some real pressure. Beith thoroughly deserved their win on Saturday without having to work too hard. Worrying times at Dunterlie and we cant even enjoy the fact that Pollok are gash just now . Hopefully we get it together for our trip to Kilsyth which is going to be a very tricky tie even if we were playing well.

Spot on mate it is worrying as I thought after the talbot game we would push on up the league. But it sums up our season that our performance since then has been nothing short of discraceful. Sandy has got to get it sorted & it's not the 1st time it has been said this season.

Arthurlie seemed to have a bad start then hit a bit of form but Saturday's result really could throw them into the scrap at the bottom if they, like Pollok don't pick up points soon. Saw them at Beechwood on Hogmanay and while Talbot perhaps had their minds on the Hearts game, it has to be said Lie played very well and deserved their win. They do have some decent players so it's a surprise to see them where they are. They won't go down though, and I'm still confident we won't go down either. Kilbirnie and Cumnock will occupy the bottom two places IMO and it will be a battle between Largs, Clydebank and perhaps ourselves to keep above the playoff spot.

I don't think he can.
He took over a side that finished runners up, and since then, some of the performances end of last season, first half of this season, have been shocking.
On Saturday, the Beith keeper didn't have to make save.

We were told let him get his own players in, well he has and were much worse than when he took over.

In my opinion, winning the west bought him a bit of time, and to be honest I couldn't believe we managed to win the west. (two poor teams in the final)

The young team were shouting on Saturday who they wanted for manager, and I would have to agree.

Don't want to sound so pessimistic, but I missed the Talbot game, and only seem to catch us when were fucking woeful.

Take it they were shouting for Millar to get the job?

They were shouting his name anyway, but that's as far as a moan at the manager goes at Dunterlie.
We're far too polite !
Although another defeat on Sat may change that.
We'll either get heavily beaten, or go to Kilsyth and stroll to victory, there doesn't seem to be any in between at the moment.

You really wouldn't, if you had seen us on Saturday. (Or the previous Sat)

Saw Arthurlie at the start of the season & they looked a reasonable side. They need to get Ryan Dees in the mood. Good manager as well. You hang about the cross anyway in case I bet them.

We played Kilsyth at start of season at there place and won three two ,but I was impressed with kilsyth and going by the league table they have only got better than when we played them in august . If you lie guys have not been to Duncansfield in a while you will be fairly impressed , the ground is looking a lot better now and the pitch is top notch .

Was also impressed with Arthurlie when we played them in November they looked fairly good , solid in defence , tricky wee midfielders in john Johnston blakely and Bradley ,a threat up front in Stewart and marks .

lie will stay up in my opinion, they lost the best goalkeeper in the juniors in neil parry and also lost a dominant centre half in frank mckeown winnin headers etc who has not been replaced unless michael keenan plays at centre half, david merriman is a sweeper and not a ball winning centre half so why sandy didnt address this by replacing frank like with like is beyond me, john mcclay is not a left midfielder and the same with john johnston on the right, bradley HAS to start everyweek, the lad stewart (wee striker) has impressed me when ive seen him and without his goals they could be further down the league. johnny miller would do a better job. The current squad is a strong enough to stay up but needs a manager to play players in the correct positions. eeka peeka

Agree about Bradley starting more games and also Livingston and Deas getting more playing time as the current midfield Sandy plays are not creating anything.

I agree with mostly everything thats been said above.I also believe that Sandy still doesnt know what his best team is and for me thats shocking at this stage of the season.I also think that he only has a 'Plan A' for games and if this isnt working he doesnt know how to change it for the better.Chops and changes the team every week instead of getting a settled line-up.Joe Bradley is the best midfielder we have and why he isnt the 1st name on the team sheet every week is a mystery. As for Keith Ross spoke to him after the game on Sat and thankfully its not an injury to his knee but his hamstring as mentioned by someone in a previous post.

Joe Bradley is an exceptional player and one who I would have liked to have kept at Beith.

In my opinion he is better as a sub as he can come on when players are tired and make an impact.

Sometimes when he plays the whole game and it is not going well he has a tendencey to hide and becomes somewhat a luxury player.

As I say it is only an observation from his time with us and not putting him down, as I stated would love to still have him at my club.
