Raith will surely be confident about going into a home game after a very decent result at Cappielow. Falkirk will be hoping that our good play can continue from our game against Ayr.
Plus with it being right in the middle of the transfer window, will we see any major changes to either side?
My prediction, a narrow win for the Bairns

I know its early but we have had to put up with Morton threads two weeks running now so its time for change.Posted Image
Our last 2 games have shown definite signs of improvement and with Casa having another week training with his teammates I am hoping he will last 90 mins and maybe even get his first goal for us this time around.
Are we one of the 2 sides Farid has failed to score against? My memory is a bit fuzzy this morning thanks to a meeting with Mr S. Artois last night but I cant recall him scoring against us.
Anyway hopefully this will be a good free flowing game with both sides attacking and Raith winning by the odd goal in 5, that or the same Falkirk side that visited us on opening day will turn up as they were brutalPosted Image

hopefully beating me by about 5 seconds to post this will be your only victory this week ffcsamPosted Image

 That won't be the train of thought of the natives. If we go one down the atmosphere will be pretty rancid among the home support. Still, if we can play 4-3-3 then things will be improving by the sounds of things. Casa lasted until the 85th minute against Morton, and by all accounts we were alright and created a few chances. I do think that if all three of our forwards drag the Falkirk defence around then they will struggle, especially if we have Baird, Casa and Clarke with Darren Dods trying to catchy his man.

At the back we need to keep things tight and try to not give away any set pieces. Farid will cause us problems, but we've done well so far against him this season. Watch out on the set-pieces and work our arses off and I think we can start improving our situation. We've been making more chances for ourselves, and just need a few breaks and results in our favour. Even the signings of Clarke and Casa are a step in the right direction, while Ayr and Queens don't seem to have made any significant signings. It may work out, but we need 100% effort from our players at all our games and for us to be consistent with the basics of the game.

I would like to say that our players have cup semi final places to play for but our 11 that has started the last few games will probably be the same 11..

I thot Raith were pretty poor last time at TFS, what they lacked in a bit of class last season, they made up for it in what seemed like drug induced work rate but at the TFS no class and the work rate was not there.

A lot has changed since day one of the season at Starks, I really expected our season to follow that game of being scrappy and a lot of our games being nearly there as we couldve sneaked a point that game. How first impressions can change....tho I thot Raith werent up to much that day.

I maybe in the thinking that some of our players may not be 110% out there with injury and suspension ruling them out for our semi but we have seen Murdoch and Higgy get bookings in a game that was won to rule them out of a final, I do expect Farid to score tho, it maybe his only chance to add Raith to his goals agains.....

Our next four games are away, so would be good to get 3pts to start of four hard games coming up......

Yup. But he's only faced you once, and that was on the opening day. But as what tends to happen with him, if he doesn't score against you first time around, he'll get you the second time. ;)

Think I'll travel through for this one. Our away form was a bit poor until recently, but we've won our last 2 at Queen of the South (5-1) & Livingston (2-1), so I think we can take something here. To keep in touch with County, I reckon we'll need 3 points, especially after the disappointment of the result yesterday.

We've still lost only 2 games since September, so I guess you could call us hard to beat. Kind of worried that some players might have their eyes on the semi final, but hopefully not.

An optimistic prediction of 2-1 to Falkirk. Farid and Weatherston to score.
Falkirk FC Scorers 2011/2012:
Farid El Alagui (28), Kallum Higginbotham (8), Darren Dods (8), Mark Millar (8), Blair Alston (6), Craig Sibbald (4), David Weatherston (4), OWN GOAL (3), Jay Fulton (3), Murray Wallace (2), Rhys Bennett (1), Ally Graham (1), Kieran Duffie (1), Willie Gibson (1), Tam Scobbie (1).

Hopefully our front three really begin to click and manage to bag a couple of goals. Clean sheets have been a rarity where we're concerned this season, so we'll most likely have to score more than once if we're going to take all three points.

The big plus for us is that Casa has now had a couple of games under his belt and will get another week of training. Hopefully this means that he'll be nearing full match fitness and will soon be able to last the 90. I'm commenting despite not going to the last two games, but from the sounds of it the addition of Casa and subsequent change of formation have resulted in an improvement. That's promising, but we need the results to match it.

As ever, the biggest concern we have is our midfield. The three we've been playing aren't the most mobile, and they can also be viewed as being a bit lightweight.

Quite confident we can take maximum points from this. Although I don't think Raith will be pushovers, I'm fairly sure we can win in a similar to fashion to the last time we played them. Our away form has really begun to pick up in recent games with two good wins at difficult venues, so we should go into this full of confidence and be looking to get a positive result before the Semi.

3-1 Falkirk

Higginbotham double + Farid for Falkirk
Clarke for Raith

Hard to argue with that. However we do seem to be a bit rejuvenated of late, with the notable exception of Dundee at home where we were utterly abysmal, and we could easily have won our last two against Morton, but unfortunately when you're having a poor season the team lacks a bit of luck and self-belief. Hopefully with three good strikers up front we can start to put that right.

It's hard to be overly optimistic when our home performances have been overall absolutely horrendous and we've only kept three clean sheets all season (one coming against Falkirk, actually) but I'll say 2-1 Rovers. Pat Clarke with the winner.

I'm heading down to the San Starko for this one and I'm looking forward to seeing big Casa bullying a defence again. I really, really hope I don't leave disappointed. I've seen too many 1-0 home defeats already this season.

The 4-3-3 formation will be a welcome change too. Hopefully I can see some efforts at goal. This would be a significant improvement on past visits to Starks.

Looking forward to Saturday already. I think we improved yesterday on last week and we are starting to play much better. Hopefully the home crowd can take a leaf out of the away crowd at Cappielow yesterday and get behind the team rather than berating players for not being a Ronaldo or a Messi. Every point is going to be vital this season and we need to start improving our home performances and I believe the crowd has a part to play in that. And please win the toss so we can shoot towards the South Stand in the second half....

I can honestly say that despite several shocking performances, I really haven't heard any particular player being berated by the fans. The way we've played lead to more or less what I'd describe as apathy.

What's more, I reckon you'll see plenty more encouragement from the fans when the team actually looks like doing something, so hopefully that's something that we'll keep up

Great! After the vT inspired shitfest of the past couple of weeks match threads we now have this fanny trying his hand at being a WUM.
Fuck off, no one is interested in your sexually frustrated attempts at annoying people.

Anyway...
I really enjoyed watching us against Morton in the first half last week. Big Casa seems to be doing the hold up play that Baird can feed from and Clarke seems to have adopted a shoot on sight policy which is always welcome in my book.

I'll go for a 3-1 win. Two nil up in the first 20 minutes with Falkirk pulling one back around the hour mark before a late clincher.

If we can thread through balls to Clarke, Baird and Casa I think we can cause some problems here. We all know Darren Dods isn't the paciest, who is the other Falkirk center-half? Thinking back to the first game of the season it was Baird's running which got Dods sent off after he hacked him down.

I feel let down, when will the rovers fans get a troll/wum to represent us on p&b. Livi and Morton both have a couple and now even Falkirk have one. No fair.

The players don't have to be like Ronaldo or Messi (i take it you're one of the 'we're no' Barca' crowd). They just have to resemble professional footballers and show the skills that mark them out as professionals. The only thing that will get people out their seats is attacking play on the pitch, hopefully with a few shots on goal, and maybe a goal or two. Mental stuff, I know.

Also, as noted above, how many of the home support berate players? I've hardly ever sat near anyone doing this and I sit at different spots in the South Stand and occasionally in the Main Stand.

Murray Wallace. It was a Dods-Bennett partnership on the opening day, but Bennett doesn't really get a look in these days. Mainly because Wallace is fucking brilliant. Wallace and Dods played together in our 2-0 win against Raith in October, and they dealt with Baird with ease that day. Clarke and 'casa' might be different though.
