Martyn Barclay has signed for Whitletts from Kilbirnie on loan until the end of the season.

He is a replacement for goalkeeper Steven Douglas who has a broken hand.

Of the 17 players who have started 3 games or less, 6 of them are trialists who we have since allowed to move on. 9 of the 17 players have only started 1 game, 4 of the 17 players have only started 2 games, and another 4 of the 17 players have only started 3 games. We have used 5 players from our u21 team throughout the season as well.

Above that, we have a core of 14 players who have started 10 matches or more.

40 players is a lot, but it's an indication of the injury problems that we've had and we've had to adapt, using trialists and u21 players to fill the gaps. For a couple of months there we were missing an entire midfield of Andy McClay, Brian Welsh, Matt Flynn and Joe McAlpine. All four are experienced and quality footballers, and we've had to chop and change a lot to replace them. Thankfully they are nearly all back to full fitness now.
