After a shaky first 15 minutes when they could have lost 3 goals,Rovers certainly didn't play like a side with such a poor recent record.They battled for everything and played some decent stuff.John Gemmell was outstanding ,winning everything in the air [albeit with some latitude from the Ref] and showing some clever touches on the ground.He didn't deserve to be on the losing side.
East Fife struggled to match Rovers workrate and seemed jaded.Perhaps the 70 mins with 10 men on Saturday and the number of players on the park who had little recent football was responsible.Think that might have been Dalziel and McQuade's first league start of the season.Bobby Liinn was excellent and neither Rovers full back got to grips with him.Ryan Wallace's pace and ability were badly missed although Craig Johnstone added a much needed spark when he came on.
