Rovers have been sent a generous allocation of 19 tickets and asked to return any which are unsold
Rumour has it that they have demanded an additional 5 tickets but the EF board are unsure about it as they expect a huge influx of home fans for the occasion!

I remember the heady days of 2002/03 when an East Fife - Albion Rovers game really was something to get excited about.

I do too. Alarming to think it was that long ago, when we were both chasing promotion to where we are now.

Hope the weather doesn't put this off again. IIRC the drainage at the "fill in the current sponsors name" stadium is good. Although snow could be the problem.
Albion Rovers directory enquiries 118821 . Just 41p per call from a BT line.
A substantial amount of the proceeds go to Albion Rovers Supporters' Trust

Pretty fortunate we found a sponser called "Bayview" eh?

No - my alarm is at how long ago it was - tempis fugit and all that! Mind you, we're certainly doing a fair bit of regressing down the table right now.

Aye tell us about it. When you can mind watching Steve Kirk and Gordon Durie in their prime like it was yesterday and realise it was nearly 30 years ago, frightening...

Quite Foggy up in the Kennoway area. Whats it like down at bayview?
With the injuries we have, i'd actually like us to line up in a 4-3-3
------- Brown
Durie - Campbell - White - Cook
-------Smith---Janczyk---Muir
Linn------------Dalziel--------McQuade

Well that was very fortunate! East Fife started the better team & missed a real snip when Div Muir shot wide after Bobby Linn had run the full length of the pitch on a mazey! Broony made a great save from Gemmell & then Stevenson shot past when he should have scored! Second half Albion started really well & Gemmell hit a brilliant volley that brought an unbelievable save from Broony. Albion continued to look the better side but bringing on subs Johnstone & Sloan changed the game. Stonie set up Sloan for the first goal then did the same for Linn for the second. Gemmell then hit the post with a header & Broony saved well from Ferry from the rebound.
Great 3 points especially with a makeshift side. Rovers looked poor in the first half but with good going forward in the second with John Gemmell (a player I have always dismissed as a hammer thrower) having a brilliant game as the lone striker. He gave White & Campbell a torrid time.
Need to push on now & try to get another 3 points at Stenny on Saturday which could take us up to 3rd place! Scary stuff!

Thanks for that, Liam. Not all doom and gloom for the Rovers, then! But we seriously need to start scoring goals again. 10 against and 1 for in 2012 so far- not good enough. At least Forfar and Stirling did us a favour by sharing points, but their games in hand will surely put us below the last dotted line...
I've been watching East Fife's progress from a slow start this season, they've been my ones to watch since the Cliftonhill game, and they're starting to establish good consistency of results.
The horror, the horror!

A game that really could have gone either way with East Fife having most of the possession but Love and Gemmell causing our back four problems all night. Two stupendous saves from Brown kept our goal intact.
We did keep trying to play football from back to front but the Big Rovers worked hard to close us down early. Dalziel didn't get much change out of Donnelly, who played him well, with McQuade looking understandably less than match sharp up front.
Plenty of chances for both sides but the substitutions finally opened up the Rovers' defence with the fresh legs of Johnstone making an impact and creating both goals...

How has Janczyk been doing for you guys, has he shifted his fat arse outside the centre circle yet?

Well seeing you weren't there young Sir. It was yet another flat performance utterly lacking in creativity, and I certainly left feeling doomed and gloomy.
Gemmell was magic again, but was alone in gaining that accolade... again! God knows how we'll fare when he's not available to carry us this Saturday. Roddy Hunter as target man doesn't fill me with anticipation, although he'd arguably be better than Quinn who I'm not sure actually managed a touch when he came on last night.
Ach well, I miss the Third Division

I've only been to two games since he signed. Falkirk away and Stirling away and been very impressed. Falkirk away was obviously difficult but thought he looked very assured and made good use of the ball.
Once McCormack was sent off, we went to a kind of 4-3-1-1, with the two wide midfielders still staying pretty wide which essentially left him playing as the only centre mid. I thought he was excellent and really got stuck in which was obviously needed. At odds with the description of him as lazy by the Brechin fans. Very good signing IMO so far.

Very happy to get the three points last night.Football is a strange game in our last home match we played Arbroath off the park and only managed a point.Last night if the game had ended in a draw i might have thought it was a fair result. So things have levelled themselves out from an east fife point of view.East Fife starting 11 was much changed due to injuries and suspension, the lads that came in have had very little game time and their lack of match practice and fitness were clear for all to see.Must credit john robertson for the changes he was brave enough to go 433 for the last 15 minutes to win the game and it paid of with 2 goals in the last 13 minutes. The difference in the two teams was the quality that was bobby linn he was at the centre of all the good things east fife did.Must give credit to michael brown for a world class save just before east fife scored the opening goal. This was my first look at albion rovers this season and they worked very hard at closing east fife down, and passed the ball well. They could just be doing with a cutting edge or a creative player up front.Their two full backs switched off a bit at both goals but were solid in the heart of their defence.Hope we have some players back from injury for a very important trip to stenhousemuir on saturday.A victory here could hoist us up to a lofty 3rd place.
