Just read up about them in World Soccer, and they have basically ignored FIFA's eligibility rules and been allowed to get away with it by the CAF. They have a Brazilian keeper and Colombian midfielder with no connections whatsoever to their country. They also have a Liberian defender who was naturalised after less than two years playing in the country and a guy who already had 3 caps for Cameroon before deciding to play for them.
absolutely, its great to see small nations getting the chance to host things but clearly EGs oil revenues havent just been used to pay for tournament infrastructure.
ill be interested to see if they get more than the usual host nations decisions frommatch officials too,im afraid i dont see this being a clean tournament
