Can't agree with your point on Creaney, I'm amazed at the amount of times he's caught out of position and more often than not, when he has has the ball, he just punts it aimlessly down the pitch. He played the Brechin strikers onside a couple of times when the rest of his defence had stepped up.

Why do you moan to us on here? There's f**k all we can do about it. If you're that bothered then write to the club.

Tried that before , but didn't get much joy. :(

Just lettin abody know what we think of your club, but it seems you lot have reservations over the way certain things are done as well !! It was explained earlier why visiting fans aren't permitted but the excuses given are pretty feeble. It seems your owners are just set in a routine that's never going to change.

No matter, as long as it doesn't affect you then that's ok . Just thought that input from the home fans might help change attitudes, but going by what's been said maybe not !!

It's been this way since we moved to the ground and the question has been put forward on many occasions and I agree the excuses given are feeble. I'd love to see away fans in there and if the bar gets the revamp that's been talked about it could make a day at the football that bit more enjoyable but I can't see it happening.

FWIW, you get a better and cheaper pint in the bowling club.

Sounds pretty simple to me....

the club has itself in a situation where there is no benefit to the club in having more people in the bar, so there is absolutley no way they'd spend money on changing the building/getting extra bits added when it wont benefit them in anyway, so we're stuck with the way it is forever/until the situation changes

perhaps away fans would like to partake in some hospitality? by the time you factor in entry & a program its about an extre £20 for a (top notch if you ask me) mean & some free wine & all the access to the bar you like ... plus the directors will be there so you can ask them yourself why you're not allowed into the community suite

Sounds all right . We do that at Peterhead when we're up there but one of the organiser's up there is a customer of mine and manages to get us a cut price deal. if something similar could be arranged with yourselves it might be worth a shout !!! ;)

There's nowhere near your ground for good nosh so it might be an option the next time !! I'll quiz our lot to see if they'd be up for it ! Can't wait to see the look on that Speccy steward's puss if we do !!!!

Too boo a team for holding the ball up is as low as I've seen from our own "fans". The abuse Nichol got from one School Teacher in the back row in seat N60-something was fucking disgraceful too.

OI! Leave me out of it! Your stadium geography needs some work.

I actually thought it was a poor game until later on Saturday when I came to the conclusion that perhaps it was just two decent teams cancelling each other out. Did nt think Brechin done enough to win the game and yet again we were rewarded for our industry if not our craft. Good stuff but a long way to go yet.
Celtic, Falkirk, Dumbarton, Alloa. You heard it here first!

As Gaz says we could have 500 folks in the bar before every game gettin full of it and the club would only make a pittance out of it .Due to financial ineptitude our owners franchised out all facilities at the ground including the bar , therefore they only get a percentage of the PROFIT on the bar at any function

I rest my case m'lud

It's a bit too cold for you to be out fishing. You would be better indoors sticking your eyelashes together. :P

However, in terms of the franchise it makes perfect business sense. Food and Beverage hospitality is not a core competency of the football club. In fact the company they use does a great job from what I have experienced, and you yourself. I've seen you filling your pockets at half time with those lovely round steak pies and a few prawn sandwiches.
I'm not actually sure how many SPL or EPL clubs would have in house catering but I bet in SFL it's in the minority.
It's a variable cost and paying someone else to manage that for you rather than having the fixed cost makes sense. Especially in a volatile market that Dumbarton operate in.

Could a better rate be negotiated - maybe but it's not going to be significant. I do not what the % is but I'm sure the board are savy enough to know what % allows a fair profit on both sides balanced with continuity of service and supply.

I don't want to turn this thread into another board debate but I think a point has been missed here. For the pies, hot dogs etc. I can see why they would franchise it out as I imagine there would be a fair bit of waste but for us to only make a percentage off of ANY function that takes place there seems a bit mad. People pay DFC for the hire of the hall and then when the party comes we only make a small percentage off all the booze/food that is bought. The function suites could be a good earner for us and I'm sure Mr Sloan wouldn't disagree.

Other teams use their facilities to their advantage, it's about time we started doing the same.

Behave yourself.

I can't agree with those who said it was a poor performance, far from it in my opinion. People should realise that football isn't all about scoring goals and the ability to retain possession and defend well is just as important. We looked far more organised at the back on Saturday than we have done for most of the season, albeit there is still room for improvement.

Agnew may not have had his best game, by his own standards, but the one thing he does well is retain possession and that is always a better option than continuous attempts at the killer pass when it simply isn't on. He's the first name on the team sheet as far a I'm concerned.

I thought Nicoll started slowly but came on to a good game. We need his 'dig' in midfield, something we lacked when Geggen left in the summer.

The new loanee Finnie played well and looks like a good addition but I would echo the opinion of others in that Adamson's tendancy to bring in SPL youth players on loan could have a negative effect on the current youth players who are continually over looked. Not to mention Nugent. A risky strategy, especially when these players return to parent clubs at the end of the season and we're trying to resign players who have no reason to believe they'll be given a chance.

As for the penalty, I wasn't convinced at the time. One of those that could have went either way and luckily for us on this occasion it went for us. The first half would have merited a 0-0 but Sons edged it slightly in the second half so a narrow 1-0 seemed fair overall. On another day, and with McAllister still at Brechin it could hve been 2-2.

Still undefeated in 2012 :D

Step back, I know it wasn't you. This clown sits behind me and I know who you are (remember we sat on the bus together going to Cowden that fantastic day when we drew 0-0?).

Read it again Eck - he's a Schoolteacher (fact) not a Team Leader - remember I know where you work!!

My Stadium geography is fne. Take a chill pill, co-worker.
Ridin' down the highway, goin' to a show, stop in all the by-ways, playin' rock 'n' roll,
Gettin' robbed, gettin' stoned, gettin' beat up, broken boned,
Gettin' had, gettin' took, I tell you folks it's harder than it looks,
It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock''roll..
It's a long way.......such a long way....................
