Connecting laptop to tv via HDMI problems Rate Topic: -----

Used to have no problems doing this until this morning when it stopped working and is saying no signal. It works when I connect my dvd player to my laptop though. Any ideas how to fix this

Yes. I don't normally used the hdmi cable on the dvd player so I tried to the hdmi cable to the dvd player just to make sure it wasnt the cable that wasnt gubbed

It will be something to do with the display settings on your laptop. You need to set it to output to the external video, or both external and the laptop screen. Pressing one of the functions keys while holding down "FN" (or similar) will cycle through them - not sure which F key it will be though, but it will have an icon a bit like two screens. Or, go into the display properties and look in there
