4) Bamboo nightclub - Never had a bad night there. Three different rooms with different types of music, everybody's happy.

This. It has a bad reputation but they play some decent music and it's wall-to-wall slags. You can't lose.
Even Gregory Tade doesn't know what he'll do next.

IMO The Riverside Museum sucks in comparison to the old one at the Kelvinhall; it's so sterile. The only thing good about it is that the best of the street traders are located in the vicinity.

Liked the old one too but I think the new one is cracking. Took the kids there and they loved the interactive stuff and the way the stuff is displayed is superb. Also love the style of the building outside. And it's free.

Well, I hope you put in a donation. I always put in £2 if I go to a museum in Glasgow, if people don't then the money comes out the public purse taking it away from other services like parks, etc.

1.) The Flying Duck - A nightclub where you can dance to amazing tunes or sit and play Jenga. The fact they do free toast just makes it more perfect.

2.) Galleries Of Modern Art - Used to hang about there when I was a teenager.

3.) The Barras - Full of shite but always worth a visit.

4.) The Brunswick Cellars - Fantastic wee pub.

5.) The Barrowland Ballroom - Best venue in Britain.

I did because we had such a great day out in there. I also spent some money in the shop. Having said that I do like the fact that it's free and also that they have tables where families can sit and eat their pack lunch and not have to spend money in a cafe if they want something to eat.. Makes it much more accessible for everyone not just folk who have money.

The new National Museum in Edinburgh is a cracking place as well.

Exactly, especially the grotty ones around Central Station. The one in Shawlands is okay, but the rest are holes!

Pizza Crolla on Hope Street is the only decent one of the chain chippies around the centre of town... especially after we took away their "batter making device" from the one on West George Street which was the funniest thing I've seen in ages!

Fairy nuff- perhaps you'd better start a "Top 5 chippies in Glasgow" thread to educate the likes of me. Although as an Edinburgh man I regard any parts of Scotland that don't give you "salt and sauce" with your chips as beyond the pale...

I was a wee bit disappointed the last time I visited the Pot Still. There's no doubting they have a great selection of whisky but that made it all the more disapponting to see that their 'Malt of the Week' was the standard Glenmorangie. I was hoping to get a chance of something a bit out of the ordinary on promo. The lager I had was probably the worst pint I have ever tasted anywhere and the pub was near empty despite it being a Saturday afternoon and the pub getting promoted heavily at the 'Arran On A Plate' event in George Square on the same day. Last but not least, the service was pretty poor. Two young guys behind the bar, one serving the drinks and taking payment, handing the cash to the other guy siting by the till who rang the money through before handing the change back to the first guy to give back to the customer. The two of them semed more interested in the £1 accumulator they had on their football coupon than giving half decent customer service. I will go back though, got a night in Glasgow at the end of the month so will probably nip in then and see if it's any better.

1) A table outside on Ashton lane on a sunny Saturday in summer
2) The Barras, (ooh the banter)
3) Kelvingrove Park during the height of summer
4) Argyll Arcade, have always loved the feel of the place
5) Dino's on Sauchiehall St for a pizza, it's like walking into a 1970s Italian and the food never lets you down.

1.Kelvingrove park in the summer, great place to sit in the sun on the big hill on a hot day with a couple of beers.
2.The garden of the Brel in Byers road . Same as above , great place to sit and have a couple of beers.
3.Little Italy on Byers road , food is good and not too pricy and good place for people watching.
4.The State Bar , on holland street /sauchiehall street. Its a great wee pub , friendly with a good choice of booze and generally pretty quiet.. I also like it because its managed to survive in that area despite being surrounded by weatherspoons , yates , shite nightclubs etc. Its an old mans pub in the middle of a young mans booze britain city center.
5.The chinese supermarket round the back of Glasgow Cale uni. Dirt cheap and good food

Congratulations. ;)

1. The Cloisters between the East and West Quadrangles of Glasgow Uni.
2. La Passionara - not my politics but a great statue and what a quote - "Better to die on your feet than live forever on your knees"
3. Glasgow School of Art - the Mackintosh masterpiece
4. Glasgow Apollo - the best concert venue of them all. A scandal it was knocked down.
5. Listen - Byres Road and Renfield Street record stores per excellence

1) King Tuts - Best gig venue in Glasgow and probably Scotland (in my opinion)
2) Rufus T Firefly - Always end up for pint or two when im in town. Does decent pub grub as well.
3) Persia - Cracking Persian restaurant on the Great Western Road.
4) Classic Grand - The only nightclub where i never seem to have a bad night. Its just down from KFC too, if you are in need of scran.
5) China Buffet King - Just because i'm a greedy fat b*****d who loves Chinese food  :P

Not quite sure why you'd eat there then... At least the other Chinese buffet place (pretty much across the road) is edible!

1) The Riverside Museum: Loved the old one but prefer the new one despite the odd layout. The street with all the different stores you can wander in is excellent.

2) The West Brewery: Nicest pub in Glasgow. Great steaks and always good to enjoy a pint of St Mungo's.

3) Football Museum at Hampden: Fantastic museum and great for social history too.

4) Viewing platform in the Lighthouse: Great views over the city.

5) Ketchup (Shawlands): Had some tremendous burgers there (plus it's just round the corner).

Barrowlands - Lost count of the gigs I've been to and the great nights out that have resulted.

The Garage - Never been as a single man and failed to get my hole

Alfredo's Bar - Bit of an old mans shop but always get decent banter with the staff and the regulars, spent many a "quiet" Saturday night getting absolutely legless in there

Velvet Elvis - Maybe a sign of getting older but the food, drink and service is always top notch, great place to go for a lazy Sunday afternoon

Sauchiehall St from Charing Cross to the Art Gallery - Fair to say I enjoy the odd curry.
