Keeper Signs
4 January 2012

Berwick have signed 23 year old keeper Gavin Sorley (6'2") initially for a month as cover for Jamie Barclay. The ex East Stirlingshire goalie had been on the bench as a trialist the past 2 games. Sorley who lives in Perth was with Shire early season but had to leave due to work commitments. Berwick had been using youngsters Connor Wood or Kieran Beveridge as cover since the injury to Ian McCaldon who has now left the Club. Sorley will be in the squad for the City Cup Final this Saturday (7th January 3pm) v Edinburgh City

1. Jamie Barclay is 22, Connor Wood is 21 so not a youngster.

2. Jonathan Gall is 17, Kieron Beveridge is 17 so they are youngsters.

3. Inclusions in this seasons match day squad of 16 are as follows : Gall 8 x League, 2 x League cup, 3 x Ramsdens cup / Wood 8 x League (after Gall resigned) / Beveridge 1 x Scottish cup

Those who write these reports are obviously so annoyed at themselves for losing the services of Jonathan Gall that they can not even bring themselves to mention the fact that he ever existed at the club!

Berwick have wasted no time in signing a goalie who was 2nd choice at the worst team in league football to ensure that neither Wood nor Beveridge ever have to actually set foot on the pitch, no such urgency was apparent when Gall was on the bench, this of course tells you that he at least was trusted to do a job if required!!

What a load of twaddle! Are you Mr Gall's Agent per chance? I would say at 21 Wood is still a 'young' player! Go and pick holes somewhere else.

Can't find the other website thread, but complaints about the old website and how it wasn't updated often enough can be labeled at this one too. Nothing updated between the last two matches and shorter match reports. I know some people were saying the design didn't matter if the content was there, but the design is shocking and the content is lacking. Embarrassing. The Eyemouth website is better.

The ONLY problem with the old website was that it wasn't updated enough. Should have kept it and just updated it more.

Na, would just like to see things moving forward, not 10 years in the wrong direction. Off I go to watch match highlights in 2012 on the Elgin site.
