Alba Athletic FC 3 - 0 Hawick Royal Albert (EOS)

Played on Wednesday night at Fisherrow, pitch was in good condition, wind was erratic.

Alba took the lead in 25th minute with a long ball evading defence and striker Gillies slotting the ball home. Hawick had a couple of decent chances but Alba keeper did well to save both chances. Then Alba pressurised the Hawick defence and won a corner, from the corner the Hawick keeper got into a flap and punched the ball into the air and Alba midfielder Guthrie scored a spectacular overhead kick.

HT - Alba Athletic FC 2 - 0 Hawick Royal Albert (EOS)

2nd half and Alba had to weather the storm from both the elements and and Hawick as they tried to get a foothold in the game, Alba managed to defend well and put blocks in all over the park, this was rewarded near the end when an excellent through ball from Bailey found Scott on edge of area, Scott beat the Hawick right back and flashed a great drive across goal, Hawick keeper managed to parry to the onrushing Kesson who slotted the ball into the far corner.
Ref blew 5 mins early due to the monsoon!

FT - Alba Athletic FC 3 - 0 Hawick Royal Albert (EOS)

Summary
Hawick had 6/7 trialists and wasnt the best conditions to judge their quality, their right midfielder was very tricky but his final delivery let him down. Hawick should be confident of improvement over the coming months and with Dunn and Chadwick starting to organise and introduce a work ethic then I see a brighter future.

Good display from Alba Athletic after a couple of crushing defeats at end of 2011, 2 trialists both did well and hopefully we can kick on for the rest of the campaign.

Referee - Evan Cairns had a very good game in the conditions and managed to control the game well.

Both teams were seriously poor. Hawick's 2 best players were their right midfielder as u say and also the left back (from 1st half). Lawrie dunn has a hard job on his hands. Alba didn't have a good player, simple as that

Wow, you are really grumpy!! Pretty harsh to say both teams were poor as it was a training/bounce game and fit for purpose!! I appreciate the time and effort you took to come along and support local football, especially in the monsoon conditions! I though the Alba goalkeeper had a decent game as did their sweeper but opinions are exactly that!

I really shoud go and watch a Haddington game (I am assuming you are linked to the amateur side) and return the compliments.

U were right, I do need 2 work kn my final ball but feel I was 1 of the better players on the park. (used 2play for Haddington). Apologies on sounding so harsh, I do however think u can count on 1 hand how many good players were on show

You were one of the better players and you will definitely enhance the Hawick team! I agree there were only a handful of players with real quality on display! But we are an amateur side i suppose.

Good luck at Hawick, you playing on Friday night? Might pop down to watch!

3 of us simply played 2 help out Hawick as we know lawrie Dunn. No intention of signing, bit of a trek 2b honest. Happy playing amateur. Good amateur teams r better than the majority if not all of hawicks league
