Got the inside scoop last night that we are hoping to sign Dale Fulton on loan from Falkirk

I'd be a little surprised if we let Dale go out on loan just now with his brother Jay looking like missing a good while through injury. It would be good for him to get first-team football but we've not got the biggest squad.

Admittedly I've no idea who your current midfielders are but Dale should easily be good enough for the division. He's primarily a centre-midfielder but he's played all across midfield for us this season, put a cracking shift in at right-back against Dundee Utd and I believe he also used to play centre-back occasionally for our under 19s.

Caldwell is actually a great centre half however consistency can be an issue for him, technically his distribution of the ball for a defender is as good as Pique or Puyol.

I'm indifferent about Cusack leaving. He was nippy and a pain in the arse for defenders, but I've seen more finesse and composure on the Paps dancefloor at 3am. Fucking hopeless in front of goal. If we get a few grand for him and if it forces JD to look harder for a decent striker then i think everyone's a winner really

Even more bizzare that we wrangled a fee for him. Who's the last Clyde player to have done that?

We got a compensation fee during the summer for Marc McCusker. Possibly similar for Howarth when he left for Motherwell?

I suppose the last first team player to move on an actual transfer (not freedom of contract) for money would have been Dougie Imrie maybe? Thinking about it, it's probably Jordan Morton who never played a game for us. He did play for Cowdenbeath this season though, rounding my post off nicely.

Thought cussack was a good player ,yeah not most clinical of finishers ;) but at least he gave his all in every match which most certainly cant be said for all the squad ,he dragged the defenders all over the place creating space for others

hope he does well at cowdenbeath he deserves it

A real sign of the times when we are losing players mid season to Cowdenbeath. Does not seem so long ago we were signing Pat Clarke or much further back Colin McGlashan from Cowden. BTW - this is a dig at our situation than at Cowdenbeath. Best of luck to them.

I know, i remember being fuming at us selling Pat. He hasn't really kicked on since. Did you not also sign Paul McHale from us? Could have been at the end of the season though.

Cusack was always quite easily Clyde's most threatening player every time I saw them this year. Right pain in the arse to deal with, makes some quality runs and that helps him create both chances for himself and chances for his team to get the ball through to him. If he could finish he'd be some player imo.

Paul McHale signed for us after the xfactor trials under Roberts, pre-season.

The lad seems to have pace and passion and workrate and gets right in defenders' faces. I groaned when we signed Marc McKenzie, but he's been a good player for us and was probably our best player against Hibs. He'll give us options and competition up front.

I'm quite happy with this signing, just hope it wasn't too much cash.

I can't imagine it'd be any more than a couple of thousand in all honesty. I think you'll like him as long as he isn't asked to go out and get you goals

2K would be my guess. We spread the goals well and squid McKenzie was never known for his goal scoring for if he gets 5/6 from now to the end of season I'll be delighted.

I'm pretty surprised at player purchases by any team in Divisions 2 & 3. Cant see it being much at all.

Liam Cusack

Sad to see him go as looked a right livewire up front and if he could finish half his chances we could have maybe sneaked a play off spot as the back 4 looks solid enough

Deserves the step up for willing to play for us for peanuts and maybe that was part of his deal in the summer should a club come in for him that we wouldnt stand in his way regardless of the fee which prob isnt much, but as prev mentioned here and elsewhere this should be a reminder for all how far we have fallen and is quite sad on an emotional Sense

Good luck and leaves with my best wishes

Ps.Similiar size to Mcglashan and wins headers he should never against bigger opponents tho does need to work on the finishing side of his game but has age on his side..Quite Gutted :(

Although he wasnt a goalscorer, im gutted Cusack is gone.

Leaves Steph on his own now since Jordan joined Falkirk( why did they sign him?)

Hopefully loan in a striker or go to the juniors again.

I liked Cussack - as said above he was an absolute nuisance to defenders. Hopefully we can get a striker in, Archdeacon is just awful.

All the best to Cussack.

Ben McKenna, a product of the Carlisle youth system from a couple of years ago. He's a good player and a really good lad. Not quick but very talented and just back from an injury he picked up in pre-season so needs games. Given time and space he'll do well but I think the no holds barred Div 3 defenders might give him a hard time. Hope he does well except against the Mo. See the feature about him on the Carlisle United website tonight and before it drops off in a day or two.

He's a winger rather than a striker.
