Queens
What teams have disappointed you?
Peterhead
Who has impressed you (from your own team)?
John Neil, Paul Hay
Who has disappointed you (from your own team)?
Too many to mention
Best and worst performance of the half?
Best, ES 7-1 and worst, most home games
How's the boss doing?
Got us competitive which is a big improvement on last year but he is more concerned on not losing games rather than trying to win them.
Areas of improvement for the next half?
When fit, defense and midfield are adequate but upfront we hold next to no threat, so definitely a couple of forwards
Summary, Grade and Predicted Finish
Pretty average season, not been much to get excited about 5/10, finishing position 7th

What teams have impressed you?
Alloa in the opening game, Queen's Park in spells.
What teams have disappointed you?
Peterhead. I don't think the performance of anyone else except Stranraer is really a surprise.
Who has impressed you (from your own team)?
Plenty of consistent performers; Brown, Gallagher, McQueen, Hay and Neill. All defensive players with the exception of Neil unfortunately. Sharp has surprised me as I thought he would've been past it but he's been solid enough. Oliver has shown a bit of promise recently.
Who has disappointed you (from your own team)?
Cusack's finishing. Jordan White's performances since a great debut down at Berwick. Perhaps the most obvious are McMullan and Kane though, as in pre-season we felt we'd have a pair of threatening wingers.
Best and worst performance of the half?
Elgin away just edges out the Brechin cup game. The worst was yesterday; I can't remember another game where we were diabolical for 90 minutes.
How's the boss doing?
He needs to find another plan than expecting Neil to create something. Going a bit more gungho in a couple of games wouldn't go amiss as we won't finish bottom either way. The organisational work is obvious and in signing Hay he addressed our problem for the last few years.
Areas of improvement for the next half?
Score some goals. Since putting 7 past East Stirlingshire, we've scored just 6 times.
Summary, Grade and Predicted Finish
Improvement on previous years, C, 7th.

What teams have impressed you?
Elgin when they pumped us 4-1 at their place. Alloa also looked decent till we made our comeback the other week. Still think they have the best squad in the 3rd, and still think they'll win the league, as I did in pre-season.
What teams have disappointed you?
I'd say Peterhead but I was one of few not to believe the hype. Still, you'd expect better from them with McAllister. Ourselves is probably the correct answer.
Who has impressed you (from your own team)?
Stephen Thomson looks a totally different player from the player we had on loan last season, I can't believe the difference. McDonald looks decent in the centre with Currie. McLaren, pre-injury was on ridiculous form compared to his last season, too.
Who has disappointed you (from your own team)?
Andy McLean has been on poor form so far in comparision to his PotY domination last season. Jamie Barclay has been really poor of late. Noble up top hasn't been anything special despite positive reviews.
Best and worst performance of the half?
Best was probably the 3-1 win over Partick in the cup early on. Worst would be the humping we took at Elgin.
How's the boss doing?
Needs to get the team working again after going 5 games without a win. Hopefully a couple of new players will sort us out and we can start to get going again.
Areas of improvement for the next half?
Stop fucking conceeding so many goals. Find a formation and stick to it. Start playing our best players reguarly (McLaren, Gribben etc). Find a new 'keeper, and either a defender or midfielder.
Summary, Grade and Predicted Finish
Very mixed start. Getting rid of Crease has turned the atmosphere surrounding the club around though. I'd give us a D and say we'll finish 6th for the third year in a row.

What teams have impressed you?
Alloa - although I still think we should have taken something from our visit to the Recs they struck me as very determined, direct and always a threat.
What teams have disappointed you?
Of the teams I have seen has to be Peterhead who looked a good bet for promotion pre-season.
Who has impressed you (from your own team)?
A few of the new guys - Chris Aitken, David McGregor, Frank McKeown and - particularly - Stephen Stirling.
Who has disappointed you (from your own team)?
Have already been moved on.
Best and worst performance of the half?
Best - 6-0 at Montrose or our 11 goals against Annan.
Worst I have seen - dreadful display at Hampden in second game of the season. At that point with 2 defeats out of 2 I feared for our season.
How's the boss doing?
Well. At the end of last season we lost Declan Gallagher, Scott Agnew and Armand One (poor by that stage but he did score 22 goals last season) but he has still rebuilt the team to the point where they are capable of going further than last year's 5th place finish.
Areas of improvement for the next half?
Difficult one as, arguably, we are already ahead of where I thought we would be. We do overplay a bit at times, but it's hard to argue with our goals for and goal difference columns. We could do with beating Alloa or Queen's Park!
Summary, Grade and Predicted Finish
Ahead of schedule, 8/10 and looking for top four at least.

Queens Park & Stranraer
What teams have disappointed you?
Peterhead
Who has impressed you (from your own team)?
John Neill, Paul Hay, Declan Gallagher & Brian McQueen
Who has disappointed you (from your own team)?
All our forwards, Liam Cusack you get plenty of effort from but he just cant score, Stephen McDonald started well but has rapidly went downhill and Mark Archdeacon is a waste of space
Best and worst performance of the half?
Best 7-1 win over East Stirling and 3-0 away win at Elgin, worst 1-0 defeat at home to Alloa or the 4-1 defeat at home to Berwick. Consistently losing to Queens Park as well.
How's the boss doing?
Jim Duffy has made us competitive which is all we can hope for with our budget. We are solid at the back and generally tough to beat but offer next to nothing going forward.
Areas of improvement for the next half?
We really need to improve going forward, there is next to no movement or creativity in the team and we rely to heavily on putting the ball up the field. John Neill is the only player who threatens to score on a regular basis.
Summary, Grade and Predicted Finish
Big improvement on the last couple of seasons, our style of play still isnt great to watch and we barely look like scoring. We could finish anywhere from 5th to 8th. 5/10

What teams have impressed you?
Several teams have played well against us. Particularly Stranrear and Queens Park.
What teams have disappointed you?
Peterhead
Who has impressed you (from your own team)?
Cawley and Ryan McCord have been standouts. May looks like he may even surpass that. Darren Young is an important player in terms of his influence on the team. Most of the others have been decent too.
Who has disappointed you (from your own team)?
Biggest disappointment has to be Armand.
Best and worst performance of the half?
There have been several good performances and it is difficult to pick one out. The home win against Elgin was good, as was Queens Park away.
Worst definitely Elgin pumping us 5-0 away.
How's the boss doing?
Very well, given it is his first management role and he was left with only one player, who was injured. It's clear his reputation has brought some good players to the Recs who wouldn't otherwise have come. Of course we have a very good budget, so that helps.
We are playing as entertaining football as we have for a while, but still getting results. Long may it continue.
Areas of improvement for the next half?
We need to be a bit more direct at times and have a pop at goal. May looks like he might provide that.
The major concern for me is still the left hand side of the defence. Harding looks too slow and McHattie has been skinned several times.
Summary, Grade and Predicted Finish
So far so good. I'll go with an A - 8/10.
We have to be aiming for top spot, althought Stranrear are a major threat, and I'm sure others will also be in the mix.

What teams have impressed you?
Clyde have improved from what I can remember of them last season, Peterhead also looked a lot better than their league position suggests when we played them recently.
What teams have disappointed you?
To be honest no teams. Any other teams failure or disappointment is surely a positive for us.
Who has impressed you (from your own team)?
Stephen Stirling just seems to get better each game, the fact Stirling Albion fans I spoke to didn't rate him at all has made me a bit more impressed. Frank McKeown has been solid since coming and looks even better beside experienced David MacGregor.
Who has disappointed you (from your own team)?
Stewart Devine was a bit disppointing, having seem him play against us I expected a bit more from him, can't see him playing for Stranraer again this season.
Danny Mitchell as well, wasn't sad to see the back of him but, given he sighted travel reasons for leaving the club then signs for Annan which involves more travelling then bad mouths the club he was very fortunate to captain for as many years as he did.
Best and worst performance of the half?
Queens Park away was terrible but, probably a big turning point. A few piss poor players from that day have moved on since then.
Annan away was a great win. Played them off the park for the best part of the game. One of the best team performances in time watching Stranraer never mind the first half of this season.
How's the boss doing?
Very well, playing some really good football, seen there was problems early in the season addressed it, making a few cracking signings.
Areas of improvement for the next half?
Quite hard this one, we're scoring loads of goals and winning most weeks, If I was to be really picky I'd ask for a few more clean sheets and to convert a few more chances. If Craig Malcolm finds his goals scoring form of last season are goals for tally could probably double. The mans effort is second to none though so I'm sure the goals will come again soon enough.
Summary, Grade and Predicted Finish
Very pleased with things on and off the park. We have a great committee who are getting there sorting out the mess that was. Management team are doing great and as mentioned got us playing some great stuff. Hard to fault any players at the minute, from the outside it looks as if there is a great team spirit, long may it continue.
Winning the league isn't to much to ask of from the team we've got at the minute. Although I can't see past Alloa given the squad they've got. Will settle for a play off spot.

I'd agree with the above with the addition I wonder if Devine will play senior football again. Seemed a nice enough guy but if he does not play this season then will Stranraer or anyone else offer him a deal?
What exactly has Danny said to badmouth the club?

Doubt he will be offerd any other deal unless he gets fit, hasn't really played for a while so might struggle.
Comments where about how the club was run and the standard of training, to be fair these didn't come straight from his mouth but, from a few of friends saying that that's what he's said to them. My gripe with this was if that's how he felt why not say it as it is and something can be done.
His friends could quite easily been on the wind but, when I did approach Danny about it and all he pretty much said was don't comment I'm not with Stranraer anymore.

What teams have impressed you?
Queens Park
What teams have disappointed you?
Peterhead, East Stirling
Who has impressed you (from your own team)?
Declan Gallagher, Paul Hay, John Neill and Mentel before he had to go.
Who has disappointed you (from your own team)?
Mark Archdeacon, Jordan White
Best and worst performance of the half?
Best - got to be Clyde 7-1 East Stirling, although I believe 3-0 away to Elgin was a bit special.
Worst - I seem to have missed the worst of this season, losing 4-1 at home to Berwick was a pain. It wasn't even a 4-1 sort of game really.
How's the boss doing?
Very well in the circumstances.
Areas of improvement for the next half?
Finishing would be the main one - aside from the 7-1 we really haven't scored many, although a bit more creativity in the wide areas would be a bonus.
Summary, Grade and Predicted Finish
mah, fair enough. 6/10, and I'll say a 6th place finish.

What teams have impressed you?
Alloa were excellent when they beat us 3-1 at Hampden earlier in the season. On the basis of our two games against them can't believe that Peterhead are languishing where they are, we've done well to take two points from them so far.
What teams have disappointed you?
Disappointed probably not the word I would use, but Stranraer were very poor at Hampden on the second day of the season when we beat them 2-0. Clyde's defence remains one of the funniest things you will see in the flesh, when they're up against us at least.
Who has impressed you (from your own team)?
Our right back Paul McGinn won our Young Player of the Year last season and he has come on leaps and bounds again this time around. Becoming more and more potent going forward and an excellent defender. Ricky Little, David Anderson and Martin McBride have been terrific also.
Who has disappointed you (from your own team)?
No-one really, team have done well this season.
Best performance of the half?
3-2 at Stair Park in October the stand out performance so far. First win there in ten years and we showed unbelievable fighting spirit to come away with the points that day. Other top performances are the 3-1 win with ten men at Shire; and the narrow 2-1 defeat at Ross County in the League Cup at the beginning of the season (again with ten men). We were great on Saturday against Motherwell as well, no way did we deserve such a scoreline.
Worst performance of the half?
We were awful down at Annan on the first day of the season. We somehow raced into a 2-0 lead but our defence and goalkeeper had a nightmare day and we ended up being spanked 5-2. The loss at Elgin a few weeks later was another stinker.
Areas of improvement in the next half?
We need to get more consistent performances from the two wingers, Watt and Murray. The pair of them are excellent on their day but their final ball is off sometimes and its cost us in games.
Summary, grade and predicted finish?
Been good to enjoy the first half of a season for a change! If we can improve the final ball a little bit and start taking more of our chances, I fancy we'll do enough to comfortably finish 3rd and have another crack at the playoffs.

Worryingly for you, Andyboy, I agree with all that you say!
We do need to be more consistent, and that's the only criticism I could come up with for us. That includes improving our finishing; we absolutely tonked Alloa a month ago and still lost, whilst the missed chnaces at Fir Park on Saturday have been well documented.
We might sneak second place.
Peterhead were cracking for the first 70 minutes or so of their visit to Hampden, then died a death after that. They were pretty good up at the Wind Tunnel as well; what happens to them when they play everyone else?
