JESUS H CORBETT!!!! That is digusting, mind you cant wait to see the Kobmeister use the nose as a spatula to lift his opponents out of the way.

With each passing car its looking more and more like McLaren have gone against the grain.

Red Bull follow stepped nose trend. Not as bad as the others to be fair and looks quite nice.

So what's the feeling- have McLaren pulled a rabbit out the hat with their design?

So the RB8 has the platypus nose as well. Stroke of genius from McLaren or not?
It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning too long to believe that the tide is going to turn. And I've been living too hard to believe things are going to get easier now. I'm still trying to shake off the pain from the lessons I've learned. And if I see Van Helsing, I swear to the lord I will slay him. AHA HA HA. He take you from me but I swear I won't let it be so. AHA HA HA. Blood, will run done his face, when he is decapitated AH! His head on my mantle is how I will let this world know...how much I love you.

McLaren are either going to walk this or have a new car by April.

I'll wager there are some squeaky bums at McLaren right now. EVERYONE else seems to have interpreted the regulations in a different way from them.

Look at this pic, it looks like Red Bull have taken advantage of the platypus nose to give the car some extra air intake. Stroke of genuis? Adrian Newey always seems to be one step ahead of everyone else!!

Maybe, or a complete red herring. Newwy isn't renowned for having cooling vents as it hurts aero- hence why Red Bull's KERS kept frying itself.

in the ugly stakes i'll go for

1. Torro Rosso
2. Ferrari
3. Sauber

Surely this 'step' could have been made a more aerodynamic shape? can they have a different shaped one (as part of the shell) for the higher downforce tracks? admittedly it would be a tiny fraction of a difference, but milliseconds can make a lot of difference in quali

Those cars are hideous. I realise it's a consequence of the technical regulations, but they look horrible.



Now, the 1995 Ferrari, there was a beautiful F1 car. :wub:

New regulations say the nose of the car has to be lower. i think it's to stop accidents like Webber had at Valencia in 2010.

I was at Silverstone that year, when Senna had a great fight with Prost in the early laps. It certainly was a good looking machine, perfectly in proportion. I also like this, Dan Gurney's 1967 Eagle-Weslake;

Yes! Yes! Yes! Ronnie in perhaps my favourite F1 car of all time. Just a shame he wasn't allowed to use it to compete for the championship. I like the 72 as well, but preferred it when it first appeared in Gold Leaf colours. It raced in some form or another for six seasons! A guy from Dunfermline drove it in a couple of Grands Prix in 1975.
