I currently manage a Junior clubs' supporters team, but the existing Scottish Supporters' Football League only allow senior teams to take part.
I also believe that the SSFL stopped allowing other teams to enter, prefering to stick with what they had.
If you manage, play in or know of a supporters team who don't play in the SSFL and who would like to join a supporter's league, PM me or post here and I'll take it from there?
Cheers

I play in the SSFL and they'd most likely welcome you into the league. The leagues are quite small so i doubt they would just turn you away.
PS. We'd love the derby!

Sorry, but the information I was given is that they don't allow Juniors Supporters' teams to compete and I know some who have applied and been refused because they only cater to senior clubs.
Was also led to believe that they weren't interested in taking more teams onboard.

As others have said if your a legitimate supporters team youll likely get in as currently theres only 14 teams spread accross 2 leagues. As for the Junior part, that may be true. However it may be worth contacting some of the clubs already in the existing setup and ask them to push for allowal of Junior teams at the next AGM. Its certainly something I would ask my team to vote in favour of should a vote be required. I'm sure a lot of other boys fell the same. Especially if it gives us a derby against you lot.

Unfortunately, with the problems the Bankies had when they were put out of business and with this contributing to losing a generation of young supporters, the supporters team folded, but only for a short period of time.
I now manage the current outfit, United Clydebank Supporters AFC, who are now as strong as ever and have a good, well run set-up.
We currently play in the Glasgow Colleges League, but myself and my players want to get back to playing fellow supporters teams.
Would be good to return to the good old days of derbies against you guys from Dumbarton.
I've attached 2 photos from our days in the SSFL. The one with the team photo was the season we went on to win the top league for the first time. Quite a few of those guys went on to play for the Bankies when we got back into the Junior ranks.
I've also attcahed a recent photo of UCS in our new Bankies strips.
I spoke to Willie Mahomet recently, who I know very well from our playing days, and he said it would be very unlikely that we would be allowed into the league as it only caters to senior clubs.
He did say that I would get a fair hearing though, but I'm just trying to give ourselves options incase we don't get allowed in.
Thanks again for your support.
Cheers

Scottish teams currently involved are Airdrie, Ayr, Hearts, Motherwell, Livingston (x2), HIbs occasionally, Dunfermline, Raith, St Jssohnstone and Partick. The main ethos is you play the morning of the day the big teams are playing, but the relatively compactness of Scotland means you can play other teams while
League is really relaxed....you play as many games as you want per season. No pressure to fulfil fixtures. Junior and non-league teams are positively encouraged....there are several equivalents down south - Telford, Dulwich, Southport, Runcorn, Whitby all spring to mind.
Showpiece of the season is a 3 day festival in Leeds where there is Scotland-England match, and a two day tournament with between 50-60 teams from all over Britain and a couple from France, NIgeria and Germany. There is also a UK cup thats played over the course of the season, with the final being played on the friday night at leeds.
There was a Clydebank team involved some years ago although I cant remember many of their names. Maybe Bankie Bill and Stevie Latimer ?
Anyway, its not everyones' cup of tea if you are looking for a regular game week in week out, but you can easily get 20 odd games a season. You also have access to teams from all over Britain and can get some good weekends away if you want to.
Good luck with whatever route you choose. PM me if you want anymore info.

Again, thanks for the support GTG. From experience, the biggest problem is how people will vote and who is leading the body of the hall.
I know when the team was re-incarnated they tried to get back into the SSFL and were not allowed in by one person's casting vote.
Some people/teams might feel threatened by a new team who have been on the go for a while and who are well run and organised. I remember this happening when we were originally involved in the SSFL, although we are nowhere near as strong as we were way back then. Times have changed.
When push comes to shove, we need to prove that we'll be a welcome addition to the SSFL and Junior outfits will also have to be accepted in first.
All you guys' support is welcome and it could go a long way to getting us back to the league we want to play in.
Evil Jim. Before I took over, UCS did take part in the Internet League, but I don't think this suited my team. Thanks for the info though.
Finally, do the SSFL still only play on Sunday afternoons, or are fixtures staggered over the weekend?

Hi Ardiles, I'm one of the Scottish reps on the IFA committee. What was it you didn't like about it? IMO, it's football as it's meant to be, with none of the associated cr@p - no AGMs, no disciplinary system, no affiliation to the SFA required. You arrange the games to suit what you and an opponent can do.
Best way to spend a Saturday: IFA game in the morning, home team provides lunch for away team in pub (assuming they don't have to scarper off), go to the game in the afternoon - what could be better?
Give me a shout if you want any more info.
Cheers
Craig

Thanks for your input anyway mate.
If any of you guys involved in the SSFL fancy a midweek bounce game, we would love to play you. PM me and we can take it from there?
Thinking also of maybe staging a weekend summer tournament and inviting 3 other supporters teams to join in.
Any thoughts guys?
Cheers

We could be looking for a bounce game, I'm not the manager but I'm sure this is something that will appeal to him (we haven't had a game in about a month as we have a winter shutdown). I'll let him know and get back to you.

Any Tuesday or Wednesday night would be fine by us guys. Preferably with a kick off time between 7pm and 8pm? That will give everyone time to get home from work etc. I can organise a pitch and ref too?
If you guys have any contact info for any of the other teams in the SSFL, could you PM it to me? Would be good to get a rapport going with as many teams from the league as possible. Might go a long way to gathering more support.
Cheers
