if this laddie was playing in the spl what team would he play for and would he make the first 11? I remember the days of Scott Dobie(capped coz he player in england and kevin kyle ditto) however this lad is the worst we have ever had. For me there is no way he would play for any team other than dunfermline.

Seems a decent enough player to me. Your clearly fishing for a bite.
No more Gary Caldwell in the Scotland team.

A turd of such epic proportions it has to be released in three installments. The first can stand on its own as a complete adventure. The second links to the first, but has a dark, inconclusive feel generating an air of foreboding and leaving itself wide open for an unknown ending. The final chapter has drama, excitement and moments where you think all is lost. A grand battle is waged where good overcomes evil and peace is restored in your gut.

Have to say that i disagree with you there, Barrowman would probably keep Mackie out of our team.

Think Mackie is a cracking player and was before he got injured. Another pretty good attacking minded player we have shame about the defence

Can OP tell us if he's seen him play, or has he followed his career on wiki?
I am not the real Jim Leighton.

iIts clearly a wind up.
I like Mackie and I think he is yet another option for one of the 3 positions just behind the lone striker although could probablyplay that role as well.
I honestly believe our attacking players are as good as our midfield now and its only our defense that looks really weak.
I think Steven Fletcher, Craig Mackail-Smith, Kenny Miller and Jordan Rhodes is a decent set of strikers and thats before looking at guys that can't get in squad at moment - mcormack, mcfadden etc plus another whole bunch that could play there if needed - Naismith, Snodgrass, Mackie etc

Mackie has done well to come back from a serious injury and has performed very well in recent games for QPR, where he is highly rated by manager and fans alike. He has just scored in consecutive EPL games and twice in four games for Scotland. He was excellent against Cypus, comfortably one of our better players. He always shows commendable enthusiasm and a good attitude in interviews. He is the kind of player managers like to have around: a decent, adaptable player who can play in a number of positions, a hard worker and a positive presence in the dressing room. However, by virtue of the fact that he happened to be born in England and due to his cavalier disregard for the sensitivities of those dimwits who constitute the over-opinionated section of the Tartan Army (in other words having the temerity to respond to a question about whether he'd like to represent GB in the Olympics in the affirmative - the sort of thing that would pass as a perfectly reasonable response in any other sporting field but which in the parochial little world of Scottish football is, apparently, tantamount to treason) he will never find favour amongst some of the Scotland support. He lacks schooling in the small-minded, chip on the shoulder, inferiority complex-driven Scottish mentality to be "truly eligible" for our national team it would seem.

I actually don't rate Mackie too highly. I think, as a player, he is quick, strong, full of energy etc. but just not a very good footballer at all. His first touch isn't and neither is his second or third most of the time either. He can punish weaker teams as he did in the game he scored against Cyprus but against better teams he is really there only for his work rate.
I would have him in the squad and he certainly could be a good impact player but I don't think he is good enough to start for Scotland. I rate players like Naismith and Bannan higher.

Correct.
Got to wonder if any of the other contributers have seen him play. or whether that are un's or really thick.
There is no chance he would get a game for the league leaders as we have forrest, sam and commons.

I've seen him play and he is a decent player, not a starter but more than 11 players are needed.
Commons still eating the pies?
