Hi guys,

I've checked the pinned tips and adviced thread but it's a little out of date.

I've been looking to get a new laptop and have spent a few hours on the internet. My budget is a maximum of £750. Can't go over that!
How do these stand up? I think the 3rd listed is the best of the three.

Samsung RF711

Medion ERAZER X6811
http://www.amazon.co...24589906&sr=1- 1

Asus N55SF-S2342V

If you have any advice or other suggestions I would be very appreciative!

Cheers :)

I've had a Sony Vaio for the last 3 years and it has been exceptionally consistently. I've only needed to format it once, which isn't too bad, and while it took me a wee while to get my drivers back (down to laziness) it runs like an utter dream still and I rarely have any issues with it.

I would avoid the Bluray drive it adds extra to the price and you can never really appreciate HD on a small laptop screen. You would be better off buying a player separately.
You will retire me, but Iniesta will retire us both.

The Samsung looks the best to me, but I'm no expert.

I've got a Samsung netbook and TV and find them to be 1st class in terms of quality, performance and reliability.

You're obviously getting a bigger screen with it, too. Good for games, films etc., but less portable.

Also, it might be worth holding off for a week or two and seeing if you can buy as good for less.

could you use a desktop PC or does it have to be a laptop, you'd probably get a much better desktop for 750 than a laptop

True, but who uses desktops these days? lol.

Unless you want it for gaming but laptops are not too shabby in that department now either. Would do my best to avoid an integrated video card, though, so you can keep up with the demands of the latest games.

Hi guys, really appreciate the comments.

We already have a desktop so definitely looking for a laptop.
I'll hang off a couple days as well then see if I can get a better deal.

Cheers everyone and I'll get round to green dotting you all.

I just got a Sony Vaio the other day and it was down from 750 to 450 on the PCWorld website, great spec and runs like a dream. Any mate I've had with a Vaio have always gave it great reviews and never had many major issues with them, would definetely recommend one.

That looks pretty good value for £400. But it depends on what you want to with your laptop. That should play football manager, and be very good for watching movies, surfing web, running office programs, would struggle with high graphic demanding games like Call of Duty I think. Plenty of space if you download a lot of things. 6 Gb of RAM should me more than enough memory as well.
