Blackburn are available at 1.47 (4/9 best priced bookie) to be relegated which must be a foregone conclusion? If you take away games v top six teams they have played two games more in some cases. They haven't played any of the top 6 away from home yet either. I make their survival task virtually impossible.

The only thing that can save them is a miracle in the January window but after seeing their team/ squad last night (particularly their defence) its going to need more than a couple of quality signings.

Keen will get punted soon enough, a new manager may bring in a couple of new players. As long as the Yak stays fit and remains hungry in front of goal then they have every chance of staying up. Wigan, Wolves, Swansea, QPR, Bolton and Aston Villa are just as poor (although don't think the latter will go down).

I backed Blackburn and Bolton to get relegated before the season, separately, not as a duo to go down. I've also got QPR to finish bottom, which doesn't look at all likely now.

As it stands right now, I'd much rather back Bolton to go down at odds against than Blackburn at around 4/9. Why? Bolton's best player, Gary Cahill, is out of contract at the end of the season. He is going to be unsettled, there'll be a circus around him until he leaves (Chelsea have been heavily linked, as Arsenal and Tottenham were in the summer) or until the Janaury transfer window ends. Bolton have virtually no money to spend, and although Blackburn are probably in the same boat, I think that Blackburn have marginally the better group of players. Defensively if Blackburn have everyone fit, they look good.

Fixtures over the next couple of weeks will be key, but if you were asking me to pick three to go down right now regardless of odds I'm going for Bolton, Wigan and Swansea.

Regarding Bolton, I just think they have enough about them to kick on to safety. They have quality in Knight, Petrov, Reo Coker, Davies and Klasnic (Ok not quality that will challenge top half but enough to be safe). Blackburn are woeful and god knows how long this Keane saga will go on. They have 3 home games and 6 away games against top 6 teams which you have got to say they will take minimal points. So bearing this in mind the will have 12 (only 12) to aquire something in the region of 24pts. There are of course a few ifs and buts but I can't see it.

I had a look at QPR to finish in the top half a month or so back and was tempted by the odds (can't remember what they were) but they have fell away and have hit a bad spell. However, Warnock has identified 4 Jan targets so they will no doubt strengthen and I don't expect them to be in the relegation battle.

For me its between Blackburn, Wigan, Wolves, Swansea.

All seen better days. Some of them weren't any good to start with. Bolton will struggle and are more than 50% likely to be relegated in my opinion.

Bolton will win on boxing day so back then after then. They have Tuncay fit again who is a good player and I think they will get out if it.

I put £40 on West Brom to be relegated at 10/1 about 6 weeks ago, which is not looking particularly good now. At the time they had scored something like 5 goals in 6 home games, unfortunately they keep coming up with narrow wins from games they could quite easily lose on another day.

On the Blackburn thing, I am in a minority here but I reckon they have been really unlucky this season. I have not seen a game in which they have been outclassed, they just don't appear to be getting any breaks.

If they threatened to physically attack me, I would STRONGLY ADVISE them not to do so. If they threatened to physically attack a young lady across the aisle I would VERY STRONGLY ADVISE them not to do so and attempt to place myself between them.

I agree.

Going right back to the start of the season, Blackburn battered Everton, missed two penalties then got a penalty against them in the last minute that was a disgraceful decision (yes I layed Everton that day  ) . That's been the story of their season, a couple more early wins would've instilled some confidence and perhaps they'd be a lot better off right now. A lot of defensive injuries have unsettled them also. Steve Kean will surely be replaced imminently, and if they make the right appointment I think that Blackburn have enough decent players to stage a revival. Wigan have shown signs of life lately, but I think they're a lot more likely to get relegated than Blackburn, and are available at slightly higher odds.

For me, Bolton's squad is packed with thirtysomethings, of which many of whom are starting to show signs of pretty serious decline. A lot of the younger players that they have brought in (Pratley, Ngog, Boyata, Alonso, Kakuta) are either not good enough or have seriously under-performed. Gary Cahill looks extremely likely to move in January, which will weaken them further.

I was with you MidTable until i watched Blackburn v Bolton the other night and blackburn played 90mins of football like it was the 90th Min

Long punt up front every time hoping for a knock down was very grim to watch,Negative and deserve relegation

Anyone who disagrees with me, I want a little more money on Bolton to get relegated. I'm asking for £7,500 @ 1.83 on Betfair for them to get relegated at the moment. Anyone who wants to lay, then feel free. Link to market:

Since the season has started this is an absolute brutal market to try and get anything matched on, you will be lucky to get about £400 of that taken at most, seems no1 is interested.
And somewhere in the distance, the gambler he broke even !!

I've gone to 1.79 and had £323.06 matched so far.

If you time it right, these sort of markets you can get a whole lot matched. Obviously there are bookmakers out there, but placing these sort of bets there is a hassle. If I'm doing an odds on long-term bet, I'll always try Betfair first (since I've managed to sort out a way to avoid the super Premier Charge now). If I'm backing 6/1 or 16/1 shots for fairly big money, I'll always do it in shops.

Best bookmaker price seems to be 1.75, so I think I'll snap up the £385 sitting at 1.78 on Betfair right now and see if I have any takers in the next 8 minutes before kick-off. Depending on results today, I'll be back later trying for some more, probably at a different price.
