With there being televised games on Monday-Thursday, I thought I'd have a bash at doing a scaled-down version of 6 ---> G.

Quite a tricky to game to begin with tonight in the Championship, however.

Anyone got any thoughts on Crystal Palace v Birmingham?

Birmingham have a strong squad on paper but have performed pretty poorly away from home, with 6 defeats from their 10 matches.

Started with a profit of £8 on an in play double, and stuck that £8 on APOEL Nicosia and under 2.5 goals against AEK Larneca. Was 2-0 after 90 minutes but APOEL scored again in injury time to continue a quite astonishing run of bad luck with 90+ minute goals for me. f**k sake. <_<

£25 on Linfield tonight at 1/5, not exactly a massive stake or risk but I'm doing well recently with my singles. Also got a similar stake on Inter at home tomorrow, got 2/5 on them.

I reckon Blackburn will win tonight but I wouldn't put money on it. Considered 2.5+ goals, or both teams to score, but ended up just sticking 10 quid on Yakubu to score any time.

I reckon Bolton are the worst team in the Premier League, and by some distance at the moment. However Blackburn's defence tonight looks like an accident waiting to happen. I just couldn't back them to win at the current prices, which look pretty much right to me. Same with Wolves v Norwich. If I was forced to pick out one bet tonight, I'd probably have a small wager on Over 2.5 goals in the Blackburn v Bolton game @ 1.79, but I won't be backing that or anything else tonight. Perhaps may have a dabble in-running later on.

Changed this bet at 7:15 last night.

Took over 12 corners 2/1
Took over 2.5 goals 8/11
Took under 45 pts in bookings 5/4 due to findin out it was Martin Atikinson who rarely shows more than 3 yelloes a game.

£10 on it returns £116.60

other £10 went on Yakubu & Fletcher double anytime gs :(

I'm really confused about laying. I was thinking about laying Everton tonight (at 1.63), but is it not more profitable just to back the draw/ Swansea win?

For example...

Laying £25.20 on Everton at 1.63 for a profit of £40

Backing £10 on Swansea win at 6/1 returns a profit of £60, backing the draw at 3/1 for £15 returns a profit of £45.

So basically, I'm going to get more money either way, and it could be jigged around a bit more to make the profits more even. What's the point in laying? Is it more use during bet in play?

Well 1.63 is like 8/13 so 25 x 13/8 (for laying) would be like 65ish?

No this isn't right. When you lay you are effectively acting like a bookmaker. So if you lay Everton for £25.20 (your lay stake) the following outcomes can occur:

Everton win (assuming 1.63 odds) you will lose £15.88
Everton lose or draw you win £25.20 (your lay stake)

In the second part, you haven't taken the other bet into your profit consideration. Ie, the profits for the win would be 45, and the profit for the draw would be 35.

You are right clydesi, I am an idiot. The lay of 25.20 to win the 65 odd returns was done on the betfair site, I think it may have been to win 40 I'd stake 25.20

Your odds seem weird, what bookie are you using?

Coral give odds of 3.75 for the draw, 5.50 for the Swansea win and 2.38 for the Draw/Win

So 25 on the lay gives 59.38 back
15 on the draw returns 56.25.
10 on the away win returns 55.

All of those including the stake, so laying it gives you more back than the individual bets.
