Did The Spartans EOS Champions get out of jail or was it a deserved 3 points. What do you say my attendees. Whatever not the distance or result I would have foreseen from the Champions elect and their local neighbours. Thought"s?

I went a watched tynie vs whitehill, bad pitch made it not a good game to watch ( football wise)
Tynie will be thinking tonight how they never won the game, whitehill took the lead from the pen spot, questionable pen ? On the build up to the pen, Wayne mac done something to a player and got a straight red. Did anyone see what he done ??
Tynie drew level with a decent goal from the hard working young josh, chipped the advancing keeper after a long ball. Tynie missed a sitter with the boy one on one with the keeper, should had been 2-1 Tynie.
Whitehill got a free kick round about 25 yards out and the boy hit it ok but the keeper held his hands up as he thou it was going wide but it never. Tynie has a problem with gliby being out as the keeper is not the best.

Looked like a stonewall Whitehill penalty from where I was standing (admittedly with maroon - or blue today - tinted specs on!). Wayne Mac said he lifted his knee a bit (apparently to his mate) and one of the Tynie defenders lost the plot. Looked like the linesman, who was miles away got involved as well. Didn't look like worth a red, but a bit daft to lift the knee. Keeper made a complete arse of the freekick, which sould have been an easy save, but I wasn't complaining!
Tynecastle had the better chances, but Whitehill dominated the game. Having Patty Bonthorne back made a big difference, he was by far the best on the pitch today.
Got to agree with Colin though, pitch was atrocious, but nice to see the game getting played and a good 3 points for Welfare

Spartans 2 Civil Service 1
I thought Civil had the better of the first half and deserved their 1-0 lead at the interval. Spartans didn't play well in the first half and didn't really create a lot of chances. Civil managed to create a couple of chances from 2 early corners but they took the lead following a trip in the box. The referee quite rightly awarded a penalty and Gormley smashed the ball into the net.
It became quite apparent that Civil were quite happy to be 1-0 ahead and they resorted to various time wasting tactics at every opportunity to try to kep hold of this lead.
Spartans looked a differrent team after the break and Omar Kadar scored early on to level the game. From then on Spartans dominated the game but struggled to convert the pressure into goals. Eventaully Keith McLeod picked up the ball just outside the 6 yard box, made space for himself and slotted home the winner with just a few minutes to spare.
This certainly was not Spartans best performance, they seemed to be missing the cutting edge today and only just managed to win.
All in all it was a good 3 points but I think we will come up against much better teams at Ainslie Park this season. We need to be performing better at home and convert our possession into goals. As for Civil they took the lead and then sat back to try to see the game out. I feel if they had been a bit more forward thinking then they may have got something from the game.

What a great result for Eyemouth today and it's great to see another team in the mix in the first division

I took in the Spartans Civil game today, and agree with some aspects of what was said above, Civil were by far the better team in the first half and Spartans in the second. Spartan were poor and I can't recall seeing a poorer Spartans team, if they continue to perform like that then tey will struggle to win anything.
Never really see much of the timewasting but suppose most team would do the same to try and kill the game. There were some good performances and some poor ones, 2 forwards for Civil played well and also the big lad in centre of the park and Keith Mcleod was very good. Both Civil and Spartans left backs were shocking, both looked way out there depth and the lad Donal was lucky to stay on the park as he seemed to foul consistenly.
Overall quite an entertaining game, the Spartans young team certainly made some noise.

I caught the 2nd half of the tynecastle/whitehill game and thought that tynecastle should of been out of sight with the chances they created, i also thought with watching from behind the goal at the free kick the keeper was unlucky as the ball took a deflection of the 2nd last man in the walls head

Good game between tynie and whitehill today, 1st half was dominated by ww and they had a goal chalked off for offside? Not sure if it was, they also had a strong claim for a second goal that had crossed the line then cleared away, tynie also had one chance with a one on one with the ww keeper but the lad pulled it wide, first half domination from ww.
2nd half started the same way but a stupid sending off by macintosh changed the game, from being the dominant team for 50 ww were on the back foot for the rest off the game but they dug deep and carved out a very hard fought 3 points against a much improved tynie team, tynie had a great chance at 1.1 but the lad miss hit his shot, ww then scored a good free kick and seen out the last few mins for the win

when you say time wasting, what do you exactly mean ? i only saw the ref speak to their keeper, and that was for taking 2 bye kicks from the opposite side of his box, surely if it was "every opportunity there would have been a number of bookings, but then again when spartans scored their second even though there was little time left, the multi ball system that had been so efficient during what was a decent game was to be withdrawn !!! an instruction that came from a spartans official.

I think the point about us moaning about how much time the keeper wasted by insisting on leaving the field for the ball when it went out for a goal kick DESPITE us using the multi-ball system, which lead to 3 balls being on the pitch at least once, is just us deflecting away from how poor we were in the 1st half again, I'm not sure exactly what it is that we don't seem to be able to perform like we are used to seeing Spartans play until the 2nd 1/2? I actually thought Fusco at left back had a much better game than last week but I'm sure he will be glad to know Deano will be available for our next game.
The Spartans Chiorboys are fantastic & even got complaints from 1 of the neighbours about the noise, & the vuvuzela had to go, ha-ha.
Happy Christmas League Table Top 3.
1. Spartans
2. CSS
3. WW
I'm not sure if that's how it'll finish but well done to all the teams for making the season exciting.
I've put the goals up in yesterdays Match of the Day thread.

my point about the time wasting was merely a point about how they had a certian control of the game, they were one nil ahead and spartans were not playing well. At one point a goal kick was awarded to Civil, a ball was played onto the park to allow the game to coninue and one of the Civil players booted it off the pitch, this meant the Civil keeper going behind the goal to retrieve a ball, there was no need for this.
I personally felt that civil were happy they had scored and they then felt they would just try to see out the game as best they could. I mentioned this later in my post. In the first half Spartans offered very little and Civil could easily have gone on to win this game or at least got a point if they had continued to play and have a go at us.
This was a very poor performance from Spartans, we were lucky to get 3 points but if other teams are serious about making a challenge for honours then they need to take advantage of a Spartans team that are not producing it week in week out. I have watched football for long enough to understand that there will always be tactics employed to try to win games. If a Spartans official instructed someone to stop the multi ball system after we scored a 2nd then I think that is unfair to the opposition. This sort of thing will always be there, however I don't agree with those sort of tactics.
Hopefully the Xmas break will give us chance to get everyone fit and start again after the New Year.

I was actually sitting right behind the man who instructed the young ball boys to remove the balls from the side of the pitch. After the full time whistle had gone 2 of the Civil players that were sitting in the stand challenged the man calling him an embarassment, which to be fair they have a point.
If that was the boy fusco having a better game than the week before he must have been shocking. I have watched Spartans a few times and he has always been the week link. I do think Spartans will benefit from getting Hoskins back as he is a fantastic player.
On a positive note it was good to see Keith Macleod got his registration forms through in time for the game. :-P

Like I said I don't really want to get detracted by going on about time wasting but as you were there you must have noticed the keeper not bothering about the fact he could have a ball from either line from 1 of the boys sat there with them but instead spent more time retrieving the ball that had gone out of play, it was frustrating to see, was it not the same for you, having paid to watch a football match? I was sat behind a few CSS boys I must have missed whoever it was that told the ballboys to go BUT if you recall we did score in injury time, maybe we'd have had to pay them more because it was over the 90 minutes, who knows/cares, also the lad on the opposite side of the pitch must have had big ears to hear someone sat in the stand telling him to go?
Fusco did have a bad game last week that's what I was saying by finishing it with he'll be glad Dean Hoskins is available next match. That said fair play to the lad for doing his best out there out of position, he can only learn from that experience & he'll show us how good he is with the rest of the season to go.
Your funny registration comment ha-ha, well done, don't give up your day job.

Yes I did notice the Civil keeper going to collect the ball from behind the goals and to a degree it was a litte annoying. The guy only told the boys on the stand side and I know Spartand scored in injury time however the guy ran across as soon as the goal was scored and told them to get in, not a very fair/nice action, you either use multi-ball or you don't.
Fusco is not Spartans standard, seen him on a number of occasions and always poor and uncomfortable on the ball no matter where he plays, he will be glad Hoskins is back so he can sit on the bench. Give the lad credit though, he is a tryer.
I thought it was funny.
