Teams had the chance to request a free Saturday for this Saturday (17th) if they wished, if not they will have to play weather permitting. Next games after that are 7th Jan 2012 again weather permitting.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

Think after this weekend there are no fixtures until the 7th January. How about a friendly on New Years Day?

Last Friday evening before the Match Secretary put the fixtures for this week together. All clubs were advised that the league would waive the normal 21 days notice required as traditionally clubs struggle to fulfil fixtures after "Mad" Friday :cheers .

To be fair I think the problem for Leithen Rovers is there may be a pitch available but is there changing facilities to go with it? Likewise do you want to play on another club's pitch and possibly tear it up? I mean would your club be happy to find another club had played on their regular park and made it unplayable? I believe that Linton Hotspur have also been using Peebles pitches along with the home clubs Tweeddale Rovers, Peebles Ams and the EoS team. So far clubs with pitch problems have been fortunate that other local(ish) clubs are happy to assist them but how far afield are you expected to travel to play a "home" game if these local clubs can't help? I also wonder how much effort clubs are expected to put in to achieve a playable park, do they turn up at 10am to inspect it and say yes or no? Or are they meant to have a squad of 3 or 4 volunteers spending an hour or two on it.
For such an important game for both clubs home advantage may be a significant factor. We don't have a game on Saturday so if this one is on I will be hoping to watch it (as long as Kk is not charging admission  !

As Malky has said, we were super keen to play the game, unfortunately there has been a hefty bit of snow in innerleithen, peebles and the surrounding areas. We have used the vale's park, peebles rovers, Tweeddale rovers and peebles ams parks this year alone, sounds its not through the lack of effort. Thanks to all those clubs for helping us out.
We have around 4 or 5 bodies that turn up on a sat morning to get park playable, but the big man above was having none of it this week.
There is no entrance fee, but the way the park is located u have no option but to pass caldwells and it seems to lure people in......
