Was having a discussion with my Dad about Man U and he jokingly said that Old Trafford must be the hardest place in Britain to get a Penalty. This got me thinking as Ibrox and Parkhead are pretty hard to get penalty's for opposing sides. Anyone know the stats for which ground in Britain is the hardest for away teams to get a penalty?
One day alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. Which road do I take? she asked. Where do you want to go? was his response. I don't know, Alice answered. Then, said the cat, it doesn't matter. - Lewis Carroll

Very good question. There is always a perception that penalties for away sides at Ibrox/Parkhead/Old Trafford/Anfield etc are as scarce as hen's teeth but it would be interesting to see that stats.
Having a quick look at this season's results I see that both Newcastle and Basel have scored penalties at Old Trafford.
Hearts (missed) and Udinese (scored) at Parkhead
No one so far at Ibrox?

Anywhere when wearing a Raith Rovers shirt. We've not had one in fifteen months now, despite a prolonged title challenge where you'd have expected the ball to be around the opposition area a bit more.

Since the start of last season, the surprising answer for the SPL is that McDiarmid Park and St Mirren Park have seen the fewest penalties awarded to the away team.
SPL away penalties since start of 2010/11* per home team
Aberdeen - 3
Celtic - 3
Dundee Utd - 4
Dunfermline - 1
Hamilton - 3
Hearts - 2
Hibs - 7
Inverness - 7
Killie - 4
Motherwell - 3
Rangers - 4
St Johnstone - 1
St Mirren - 1
*I think the stats are incomplete before last season, so I can't go any further back.

If anyone can be bothered doing it, all the English ones are available here.
As I said, I wouldn't guarantee that anything before 2010/11 was reliable - it seems to have very few missed penalties recorded.

From the top of my mind, we've only conceded one penalty at home this season which was missed by Queen's Park.
We are a team, of fame and fortune.

The thing is, to answer the OP, we'd need stats on how many valid claims for penalties were turned down

I think it may have been mentioned but the reason there is this opinion of few penalties given against bigger sides is because you spend little time in their box!

I don't think that can be right. Hamilton conceeded 3 penalties to Aberdeen on opening day. Im not quite sure what these stats show, i find the wording confusing, but it seems to suggest either we didn't conceed any more penalties at home, or Aberdeen haven't had any more away from home since.
Both of those scenarios are nonsense!

Surely that's the number of penalties Hamilton conceded at New Douglas Park rather than the 3 they gave away at Pittodrie to Aberdeen?

The stat is about the number of penalties awarded to visiting teams at each ground.
The Paul Hartley penalty hat-trick was at Pittodrie, so there were no away penalties awarded that day.
