Hello folks,
For an xmas present I have been asked to buy someone one of those I-Pod tape deck adapters so the said person can play their I-Pod in their car. I looked at e-bay and they look a bit cheap and simple (basically you just plug them into the earphone hole bitty) but I'm not too sure.
What would you gadget people recommend? Are the cheap ones good or is there a reliable type?

Cheap ones are fine.
To be honest, I would go for an FM transmitter one instead. Instead of plugging something into the tape deck, it transmits an FM frequency, which you just tune the radio into. Again, a cheap one will be fine, but try and get one that you can set to any frequency (the first one I bought only had 3 preset frequencies, all of which were already in use by local radio stations

Thanks, I'm thinking about getting the FM transmitter instead. Apparently you get the tape "sound" if you use one of those things.
Wait I should add this car is, well, a banger, really old (Nissan Micra to be precise

FM transmitters aren't that great. I'd say it was on a par with the quality you'd get from a tape. You also need to f**k about with the frequency if you travel a large distance due to interference when entering new areas
