Does anyone know much about them?

My parents are weighing up getting one instead of a multi-speaker surround sound and have asked me for advice, and to be honest I know nothing about them whatsoever.

I understand that they are best in a conventional square room with the tv in the middle of the wall, but my folks would be looking to have it in an open eaved sunroom, and their tv is situated in the corner so as to be also seen from the kitchen. They've got the exact same tv in another room and reckon compared to it they're losing a lot of the sound quality (they are definitely losing the volume) because of the shape of the room/roof.

So the question really is, is it worth them going for a nice wire-tidy soundbar, or running cables and buying a multi-speaker surround sound?

Also to add, they aren't massive film watchers or anything fancy like that, they just want decent quality for normal TV and pish like the X-Factor.

Thanks in advance guys!

I've had one for a few years, got a Yamaha YSP-800 when we moved house. I wanted decent sound without any wires and it does deliver, it's very good.

Our TV is in the middle of our room on the wall and it does work well in that setup.

Is it as good as the full bhoona surround system with all the speakers ? No, I don't think so but it's never going to be quite as punchy.

I think you can now get the full systems with wireless rear speakers though ?

The problem with the speakers again is the layout of the room, so as where to put the things to make them work best. If it was me, I'd probably go for one of the top of the line soundbars.
