Yea I know it is only Thursday but honestly what are the chances of games being on this weekend with all this rain. Then factor in the wind strength and really does anyone want to play football this weekend?

I'm sure you boys wouldn't mind playing another couple before new year, you could almost have the league wrapped up  .

On an aside, am i right in saying Nighty is only 8 goals away from breaking a 35 year old goalscoring record?

I think Nighty is more than 8 but only by a couple. Scoring for fun.

At a guess it could be Robbie Middlemas? Although 35 years ago Mid may have been a bit on the young side.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

I was chatting to one of the Hotspur boys on Sunday night and i'm pretty sure he mentioned mid 70's? Although my head was still minced from the Sat night so could be wrong

He's on 31 I think. the record held by rob middleman is 42 from what I'm told. with a minimum of 10 games to go I can see him beating it by a long way considering in 14 games si far he has 31.

With respect to Nighty and the current BAFA set up I think it would be a better achievement in the mid 70's. In my opinion the standard was higher and I also believe the EoS was a better standard too although it is difficult to compare with all the changes to laws and equipment! I'm away for a horlicks and a sit down I feel old....................:o

Haha. aye it might have been harder back in the days before colour tvs and websites like pie and bovril. lol. but if he does beat it its a good achievement to get over 40 goals in one season
