Just heard on match of the day that today Emile Heskey became the 6th player to play 500 games in the premiership. My question is, who are the other five:

My guesses are:

Gary Neville
Ryan Giggs
Gary Speed
David James
Alan Shearer

If its not those 5 the other contenders will include:

Paul Scholes
Phil Neville
Frank Lampard

Who have I forgotten?

Don't know exactly who the other players are but I know I read a feature during last season that showed Phil Neville had played more Premiership games than Gary Neville.

Guessing a lot of keepers such as James, Robinson, Fridel and Jaaskalenen must have a decent amount of apperances, although not sure if 500.

I heard on Sky Sports the other week that Brad Friedel hasn't missed a EPL match since 2007. And this is the first season wothout David James playing for an EPL team.

I can only see it updated to the end of last season but it is
Giggs, James, Speed, Sol Campbell and Lampard (shown as 491 but must have jumped over this season). Gary Neville is actually not that close only 400, Shearer is 441 and Scholes is 465. It is possible that Giggs may well make the 600 club as he was only 27 appearances short at the start of the season so if he keeps going.

Of those still playing to reach 500, nearest are Jamie Carragher and Phil Neville on 463 and 460 respectively so start of next season if regularly picked. Gareth Barry and Rio Ferdinand are a couple of seasons away at 432 and 421.

On keepers apart from James at 573 appearances it is Schwarzer next on 438, Given on 406 and Friedel on 400. Jaaskelainen is on 361.

You are a season out. David James joined Bristol City in the summer of 2010 after the world cup. He was with them all last season too.
