Anyone know of decent UK wholesalers selling cheap products that sell well on ebay ?

Guessing not when you are asking for the name of wholesalers on a football messageboard...

Oh, and nothing really sells consistently well on eBay. Unless you can find a box load of brand new Xbox/PS3 games for £15 a copy.

Why not? If I can find a cheap retailer, be it by my dad owning the place, or by asking on a football forum, why does it matter where I found it from?

And your second point is obviously bullshit. Not even worth a proper reply.

You seem about 16 or something, but I'll respond to you as though you were an adult.

Bearing in mind you seem to think that there is "thousands to be made" then we're into the small business category.

The start up costs to run a business on eBay are pretty high as you need a high initial outlay for a decent amount of stock which you won't sell much of due to having no positive feedback (you need ten feedback before you're allowed to register as a business anyway, but that's a pretty tiny amount, I've sold hundreds of things and only have 233 feedback as hardly anyone seems to leave feedback, positive or negative).

Now given I use Ebay quite a lot, I know that you rarely get what you expect on there. People use it to get a bargain, that is the point, so unless you get stuff ridiculously cheaply then you are fighting a losing battle as a business. Remember that you have to pay a charge to run as a business, then have HMRC to deal with on top of that. Plus my cousin did try that whole idea, but it was far too much work on top of her job; it took nearly a year to make her initial outlay back.

Games/electronics are the only consistently strong seller on eBay, but given that the majority of the businesses (Zavvi especially are b*****ds for it; either on eBay, Play or Amazon) that you are competing with on there will undercut you that is a pretty risky step.

Yes I already sell on eBay casually but want to start making money. I don't intend on registering as a business, why is this necessary?

If you dont ebay will quickly realise someone selling shit loads isnae doing it for personal selling. This of course would be fine if you focussed on lower quantity higher cat price items.

It's mainly for tax reasons, but it's also cheaper as it let's you pay a fee each month for a set number (it's pretty high) of listings rather than having to pay for every one individually so if you are putting on 10 apples, you can't sell food but you know what I mean, you wouldn't pay 10x9p listings, plus sellers fees on top of that.

If you planned to sell more than a dozen items a month it'd look pretty suspicious if you don't register as a business.

Buy a load on cheap jumpers. Stitch on novelty christmas items, deers, crackers etc. Stick them on ebay.

A lot of people have christmas jumper nights out for work and stuff.

Any "legal high" online retailer.

Ebay won't be the correct route to take though.
