All the options are horrendous. The thought of Toshack returning just made me vomit up my balls. If it really has to be someone Welsh(ish), then with any luck Miwaw'll sack that Jackett potato and we'll snap 'im up. Even then I'm overwhelmed about my underwhelmedment.

Have Wales appointed anyone yet?
No more Gary Caldwell in the Scotland team.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if the Wales v Scotland game is likely to be at the Millenium stadium or will they opt for a smaller venue ?

I doubt we will know before the summer.

Racecourse has dropped below standard, last I heard. It'll be guaranteed for Cardiff City Stadium though to attract as many away fans as possible. One qualifier (Macedonia, I suspect) will be at the Liberty, plus possibly a friendly in Llanelli at some point if they want to persist with that.

They sometimes play in Wrexham but I'm pretty sure they'll have this one in Cardiff..
I see Wrexham is 10,500 capacity, I doubt that would cope with the demand to be honest.

To do that it would have to be the Millenium.I think the venue will be dependant on who the new Wales manager is and how skint the WFA are.

If they have any sense they will tell him to jog on. That said, I would like to see him appointed.

Confirmed as the new gaffer.

Not convinced it's a great choice.

Always comes across well. Least he has tried his hand abroad at management as well as within the UK. Wales gain is Sky TV's loss. I liked him as he was the only commentator who seemed to slate shite players
Not sure what other options Wales had open to them.
Either way, hope we take 6 points off Wales. I really do think we can win this group, just hope Levein can sort out his differences with Steven Fletcher.

Bad times for Sky losing him and having dross like Gary Neville and Ray Wilkins. Since my suggestion of Gray as next Scotland manager was quickly shot down ages ago, I wish Sky would just swallow their pride and re-hire him for commentating on games.

surprised that "Cookie" got the job, to be honest. Looks like the Dutch coach popular with the players will be getting his jotters shortly- exactly the kind of disruption the Welsh squad didn't want- and be replaced by Kit Symons.

only the FAW....
only the FAW....

Looks like Chris Coleman will have to do without Craig Bellamy, a welcome boost for us and Gary Caldwell
http://news.bbc.co.u...ll/16807044.stm
Wales striker Craig Bellamy admits he is considering international retirement after the Gary Speed memorial match against Costa Rica in February.
Speed died in November after leading a resurgence in the Wales national team and he has been succeeded as manager by Chris Coleman.
And Bellamy, 32, says the Costa Rica game on 29 February could be his final Wales appearance.
"I don't know whether I'll play on for Wales," Bellamy told the Daily Mirror.
"I do think it's going to be difficult for me to play because of the impact of what happened [to Gary Speed].
"I am committed to the Costa Rica game and then it might be my last. I'm not too sure. It might be but it might not. There are a lot of people I need to talk to.
"Wales has meant everything to me. It has been the highlight of my career.

I see that Raymond Verheijen (sp?), the Dutch guy who (I think) was Gary Speeds #2, has resigned today, citing he's "had enough of their (FAW) political and destructive games. Very sad day".
His twitter
Am I right in saying he came out pretty soon after Gary Speeds death and proclaimed that somebody or other was "what Gary would have wanted"?

I think he wanted the job for himself after Speed's death. I may be wrong.
