Can someone give me a run-down of what annual fixtures or tournaments are played in by Scotland Amateurs, and also league/association Select XIs? And how the entrant for the UEFA Regions Cup is settled? Thanks in advance.

I read somewhere that it is region from where the winner of the national cup competition comes from that represents the country. For instance, if Team A won the Scottish Amatuer Cup then the region that Team A is from represents Scotland, I'm not 100% sure though.

Thanks. I wondered if there was a National Selects Cup, or suchlike, to decide the UEFA entrants... giving it to the region the Amateur Cup winning club happened to come from seems rather strange!!
That second link EyeValley gives seems to be the tournament mentioned on SAFA website:
I see there's definetely 2 annual challenge matches, Scotland v Northern AFL (Northern Ireland) and v Leinster SL (Eire).

2. Select Competitions
Select competitions are also a help with spotting talent - for example with Ayrshire AFA, Central AFL and Scottish Amateur League select teams playing against each other in the Annual John Smith Tournament, this gives Hugh the opportunity to watch a concentration of some of the best players in their own domestic league play in a very competitive situation.

Hi there I actually had the privilege to play in the Scottish amateur team in the uefa regions cup about 5 years ago now and our team or region was made up from boys from Ayrshire glasgow and even fife we had to play a team from the highlands region and whoever won went on to represent their country fortunatly we won the game 2-1 and went on to play Ireland Latvia and Finland in Belfast over 1 week but we never got capped for it !! But we went on to play the Leinster league also in Ireland and got capped for it I went on to get capped 3 times for the team over a year and a half period and that's how they decided who played for their country back then but it may have changed over the years
