2013 Rugby League World Cup ... it's a while away - but it's on

As for how many of Scotland's players are actually Scottish, a few years ago you'd have been lucky to find more than a handful of them that were Scottish but now I'd say the majority of their players are due to a change in policy (Steve McCormack the Head Coach wants to play more Scottish players now instead of Englishmen or Aussies) and because there's now more and more Scottish players playing rugby league including David Scott who's currently playing U20s for professional side Hull KR. There's plenty of more young talent coming through the youth player development centre too at U18s, 16s and 15s ( I should know being one of them Posted Image) and there's more and more teams pooping up around the country now.

League is better. It's faster, better to watch, there's more tries, bigger hits, better atmosphere at the grounds and it's more entertaining. What more could you want?

Wales v france to decide the grand slam was a spectacle that RL will never ever experience. Rugby union is played by many millions more worldwide than RL.

The last RL world cup was watched by less than 100 million worldwide. The rugby union world cup was watched by nearly a billion.

Iv been to big games in both codes. I found RL fans to be very similar to football fans. They can be hostile and even crowd trouble isnt un heard of.
RU fans tend to be more welcoming regardless of where your from.

RU is light years ahead of league and that my friend is a FACT.

I think you will already find that RL already has and continue to experience spectacles like Wales vs France in the 6 nations as you pointed out so to say that it never will is just wrong. Just because RU is older therefore has more people around the world playing it and the RWC was watched by billions doesn't mean it is better. I think you will find that because Football fans and RL fans can be alike is because the support they gather are for the majority from blue collar working class backgrounds compared to the mainly upper class private school background of RU so therefore its always going to be a little bit more hostile and a better atmosphere for it. Neither RU nor RL is light years ahead of one another. Im a supporter of both codes by the way.

And just because yawnion is more popular doesn't mean it's the better of the two codes. The Conservatives are the most popular (albeit not by much) party in Britain. Doesn't mean they're the best party to lead the country.
Anytime I've ever been to a league game there's never been any trouble or even the slightest hint at it. At least at league game's the crowd sing and have a laugh (like at football) unlike union.

I suppose thats why Otago RU was bust and had to be given handouts to stay alive in NZ recently? Teams go bust in any sport especially Football.
