A couple of worldys

Can't believe this guy only has one cap! Looks to be very good technically, is playing at a decent level yet he has only one cap received when he was a teenager.

Surely Levein knows of him and if he does why has he never called him up?

I know Sven dropped him and that was the first time has played in ages for Leicester, certainly a very good player and can score absolute screamers.

But it's leviens call.

Scores a couple of good goals, fans remember he's alive, blame manager for not calling him up. Sounds about right.

I've been quite impressed whenever I've watched him. Impressing this season, and scoring those 2 goals surely merits a call up?

Or maybe he's in the same situation as Ross McCormack, who doesn't get called up regardless of how many goals he scores.

Get him capped!
Ooh it's good to be a Buddie!

The guy played 41 times last season and 41 the season before that scoring 18 goals, not a bad record for a right winger.

Has played consistently in the championship for 6 or 7 season yet has one cap! Imo that is nowhere near what he should have, especially considering our back up options in the wide areas i.e. Robson and Mackie

Mackie is playing in the league above Gallagher, and Barry Robson has scored far more goals than Gallagher has this season. Not really the best examples to use.

Gallagher 11/12: 11 apps 5 Goals
Robson 11/12: 17 apps 6 goals

Yeah Craig far more.

And leaving aside his "far" superior goal record, he is 33 years old and is a very limited player.

Mackie did quite well in the last Scotland game but I think his time in the EPL will be short lived.

Yeah I agree with you here.

I've never really been that impressed with him this season/last season. I'm basing that on the occasional live game and highlights, but f**k he's scored a couple of good goals so he must be a class player.

That last bit was sarcasm by the way.

Paul scored a couple of screamers midweek but needs to do it on a more consistent basis before we can seriously start touting him for another cap.

That said , with Steven Naismith out long term from the national set up there is a void to be filled in the Scotland striking department so let's hope he keeps up the good form.

Why are you touting someone who hasn't played in the top flight for around 6 years as better than someone who is playing there (and playing well) now?

Is he? Mackie has not looked good whenever I have seen him live. He is a trier but a pretty limited player.

Yes. Unless Sky go bankrupt, there is no way Italian football will ever challenge the Premiership again.

He played in the team that lost against Wales, didn't he? The one that was destroyed by John Oster. John fucking Oster.

Not been consistent enough and we have much better and younger players in his position. Not a international standard player, harsh truth. Like to see all Scottish players do well down south but I don't think he quite cuts it.
No more Gary Caldwell in the Scotland team.

there is zero chance of a man as bitter and twisted as our national team manager calling up a player from the club that derailed his glittering managerial career. simple as that.

and jamie mackie, craig mackail smith and goodwillie are?

there are none so blind as the trannies. if gallagher got a call up and scored a tap in a 1-0 win over san marino he would be the best thing since sliced bread.

Not a fan of Goodwillie at present, but think he will get better. Gallagher been watching him since he was at Blackburn and Stoke (when they were in Championship). As a Scot I want him to do well, but he can't hold down a regular place (all be it in a strong Leicester squad). Not a huge fan of CMS and feel sorry for McCormarck who is the Championships (or at least was before last international) top scorer yet over looked. Levien annoys me, especially leaving out big Stevie Fletcher.

Just me who thought this was going to be a thread about the goalkeeper and wondering why anyone would want to add to his 1 cap?

If it isn't a crap pun, boasts about PES, some fabricated nonsense about wanting Celtic to do well or some kind of sexual comment about women, it isn't a twisteH post.

How many goals has this sensation, that Levein should have capped, scored now? Must be heading for double figures!

You want as many good players in as many good leagues in good goalscoring form as possible to select from for every match.

Scotland don't really play friendlies. It's just not in our nature.

I wonder whether 17 year-old wonderkid Darren Shaw will get a call-up.

Getting silly now. Posted Image

Good pub question though , who was the last 17 year old Scottish centre back to play at international level?

At least the guy is SCOTTISH and unlike a number of players in the modern game he would walk on broken glass to pull on a Scotland jersey.
