Tweeddale disappointing once again in the main competition beat 3-1. Time after time, just lacking something, never done anything in the South for years. Take nothing away from Chirnside though, good luck.

Earlston Rhymers vs St Boswells in South Cup.

If Lee Manderson or I actually HAD any hair, we'd have been tearing it out !!! 3-3 at full-time, 5-5 after extra-time, 5-6 on penalties for Boswells to go through. This game was like kids playground fitba, end to end stuff, plenty of heart not to lose the tie, a wee bit of skill and ability for the goals, a fabulous treat for the neutral spectator. Boswells took the lead near the end of the first half through a clinical Elms strike, in off the post. Rhymers equalised just after the break, but Elms struck again to get us back in front. Rhymers then had a purple patch with 2 goals from set-pieces, after terrific work by Dinger Bell and big Stevie. Poor defending from the Boswells back line, though. TJ Moriarty restored parity before the end from a corner, so it was into extra-time. First Elms struck for Boswells, only for the advantage to be lost, then David Richardson scored to put us in front again, only for the Rhymers to come roaring back to equalise again. All five penalties for each club were despatched clinically - no chance for either keeper with them - before Gordon "Chem" Dalglish strode forward to bullet his strike past a helpless Manderson, followed by Boswells keeper Mike McLaren's excellent stop from the unlucky Rhymers penalty taker.

Not a classic encounter in terms of Barcelona - Real Madrid perhaps, but no lack of entertainment or excitement for all that, A match played in excellent competitive spirit, even though both teams were missing important players.

Travelled to watch the Kelso game in Berwick yesterday against tweedmouth. great game with both teams playing some excellent football. Tweedmouth looked solid at the back with the big centre half having no problems with the Kelso forwards, tweedmouths two wingers were terrorising the Kelso defence with they're pace and crosses this eventually leading to the 1st goal but Kelso battled on and eventually got an equaliser after some good play down the middle. Tweedmouth went back infront though through a deflection at the front post from a corner which seemed unfair after the way Kelso had go back into the game Ht 2-1 to tweedmouth. Second half was fairly crazy with tweedmouth scoring early and seemingly cruising until Kelso won some free kicks and corners Kelso punished with the centre midfielders looking very lively and tweedmouths defence looking clueless about how to deal with them. The score got back to 3-3 and half chances fell for both sides with superb Kelso goalkeeper getting tangled with the tweedmouth forward and the tweedmouth winger firing a chance into the side netting but Kelso lapsed concentration and allowed the dangerous tweedmouth midfielder to rifle a shot in from 20 yards. Straight from the kick off tho the pacy Kelso forward burst through and drew a blew for a penalty which was calmly fired in to make the score 4-4 which is how the game ended and in my opinion was a pretty fair result for both teams. Good luck to both for the rest of the season I'm sure both will be up there!

Fair report there siralec thought the game was played in the right spirit and was a good advertisement for attacking football in the c division. (less said about some of the defending the better) but well done to Boswells thought the 2 teams were evenly matched and there should be another couple of good matches to come. All the best to Boswells in the next round in wot could b a tough tie v gala rovers!!

Coldstream 4 Hawick Utd 4.
Probably a fair result in the end, both teams having their chances to win. Coldstream went into ht 2-1 up then ended up having to score to make it 4-4. Some strange decisions from the ref, especially when Coldstream striker was rounding keeper to score only to be brought down, penalty awarded but only yellow for keeper. Keeper saved the penalty only for a Hawick defender to start squaring up to Coldstream players for no apparent reason, this then caused several players to rush in with even the Hawick touchline making their way onto the pitch before deciding to retreat without getting involved. Hawick player was booked and game restarted with Hawick keeper kicking the ball from his hands, surely the game should of restarted with a drop ball or free kick?? Considering what has been said on here the last few weeks about both teams, other than the incident mentioned, it was a game with no rash challenges and no issues between players.
