Slovenia away match confirmed
We will be playing an International Challenge Match against Slovenia on Wednesday 29 February 2012.
As yet, the FA of Slovenia haven't confirmed the match venue however we’ll email you with this and the kick off time as soon as we have them.
Scotland National Coach, Craig Levein, said:
"Im really pleased to accept the invitation to travel to Slovenia. The players are all looking forward to another opportunity to continue building momentum as a group.
"After a positive week, and result, in Cyprus recently, this match is another crucial step in our preparations for the World Cup qualifiers. Slovenia will provide a tough test at the right time for us."
We won’t start any ticket sale until after the New Year because we do have to get your SSC membership renewals up and running before then, as you’ll have to be a valid member for 2012/13 before you can buy an away ticket.
We’ll be in touch very soon about membership renewals so just keep an eye on those emails!

Great choice of game, bearing in mind the teams in our group.
Just checked their euro 2012 group, finished strong by beating Serbia and therefore denying them a play-off spot - which Estonia got.
Started back in October 2010 by losing 1-0 at home to N.Ireland.

Only getting 660 tickets
Bit of a nightmare, because I couldn't make all the Carling Cup and Cyprus due to family commitments, I'm now down to 7 points. Might struggle for this one.
What a joke - seen us play Brazil opening game of France 98, but struggling to get a ticket for a friendly match in Feb

Be fair, it's the first time a friendly game hasn't been a "anyone who wants a ticket, will get one" affair.
Mine will be bought on Monday

You have 7 points....of course you'll get a ticket.
Conincidentally, not sure why you mentioned the Brazil game.

If all the 10, 9 and 8 pointer get one, then i won't.
Probably the size of that game compared to the forthcoming Slovenia game

Yes, but the 10,9 and 8 pointers are heavily inflated by the easy-to-access games we've had.
7 points should comfortably get a ticket. Just be ready at midnight

Am sure for a friendly someone with 7 points would get a ticket. If demand so high, sure Scotland fans would just end up in home end if no extra tickets made available.
Did we play Slovenia a few years back, sure we won 3-0 and had both ends behind the goal.

Yes, but that was in Celje.
This is in Koper, a town that resembles the size of Troon. The S.F.A. actually conducted an online poll to guage numbers and over 1000 replied, so there will be a few disappointed souls

Is it a big ground? Plenty available in home end?

What? Why the hell are we playing a friendly at a ground which has a capacity of 4,000. Maybe if our squad was full of St Mirren and Motherwell players I could understand. But all the players likely to be involved play for clubs whom get at least 16,000+ week in week out. I expect mass drop out of players for this friendly, never like to see it, but deary me, a crowd of 3800 for a international friendly.
No more Gary Caldwell in the Scotland team.

Certainly a better friendly than that pointless outing against the mighty Cyprus. Looking forward to it
