I renewed, although I was reluctant to pay that amount when at the moment tickets are pretty easy to get. Demand tends to go in cycles though, a few years ago there were a few games where tickets were hard to get, we're in a bit of a lull at the moment but it will pick up again at some stage and I'd be quite annoyed if I missed out on a big game. There will be times where the renewal cost isn't worth it - like the last couple of campaigns - and times where it is - like getting tickets for the France and Italy games, hopefully over time it evens out.

If member numbers do go down they should give those who do re-join first dibs on getting more than one home ticket.
Numbers down to 16,000 according to one report this week, although the SFA are saying it's 20,000 and that they have 15,000 other notifications of interest. I didn't take advantage of the early bird offer and still undecided if I will renew before the final deadline. The lack of weekend games is an issue for fans who aren't based in the central belt and I only rarely attend away matches so membership doesn't do me any use in that respect. As a number of posters have said it's not as if there has been a massive demand for home tickets of late either. Will wait and see how skint I am in March....

Can completely understand this POV Waspie. As has been said above, a lot of us who don't go to away games are paying a lot to guarantee a home ticket and to get a scarf! I swithered but have paid and I do think the SFA should reward those who have if it turns out there are less members and thus plenty of home tickets up for grabs.

But how do you regulate it? How do you decide who deserves an extra ticket and who doesnt?

I'd like to see the SFA give something in terms of points to those who turn up at the meaningless friendlies at home too. A wee half point would be great. Just think back to some of the absolute pish games that there have been over the past 20 years at home; I think that I've seen the lot of them. I need help obviously, but it would be nice to be rewarded in some way for supporting these kickabouts.
I can only afford to go the occasional away game now due to my circumstances, but why should I have less chance of a ticket to, say, Spain last year than someone who goes regularly? I pay my subscription the same as them. At the very least, something like 10% of tickets should go into a ballot for everyone.
I will, however, keep up my membership in the hope that next year's giveaway will be a nice silk cravat.
