Yes. H-W agreed this when we were up at Riccarton earlier in the season.

Fantastic that we are playing football in mid-January, what a difference to the last two years. All welcome at Albert Park, 8pm kick off, £4 /£2 (students) /£free (16 and under/OAPs). Wear yer woollies though, pretty chilly. Bovril and pies to warm you up at half time.

Thanks to Heriot-Watt for agreeng to this Friday night fixture, much appreciated.

Got a score from the game? Couldn't make it down tonight. Gonna get down for a Friday game one of these weeks!

Just in from a really enjoyable night at Albert Park. No shame being beaten 3-0 by an excellent H-W team, although the goals we gave away were not classics. However, we played some good football and perhaps for the first time ever in an EoS league match there were no bookings for either side - hardly any poor challenges at all. Obviously, it's a shame that overhead kick hit the bar, that would have been a wonder goal! The clubroom had a great atmosphere after the game, showing that Friday night fitba' at Albert Park is a roaring success! Thanks to all supporters who braved the cold, apparently pie sales were up as a result! Next match is a Saturday one, v top of the league Preston.

Enjoyed another Friday night trip down to the freezing Borders! Did get a bit worried at -3 on the way down but pitch was fine although did have a thin layer of frost on top. Hawick battled hard and goals conceded either side of half time didn't help. Whitehill keeper Paul Tansey on loan at Hawick had a decent game in goal. What a goal the overhead kick off the bar would have been! Only downside no programme!

We could have done with a programme so that the locals who came to watch their local team knew the players names. Even the long serving chairwoman was shouting "go on number 2" etc. Bad game on a cold night with little quality from either side!

Aye, a programme was planned, printer problems. Sorry.

Just to correct a wee misunderstanding, our current chairperson is actually Graeme Paxton, who is neither a woman nor particularly long-serving, having been elected in 2011. Our current committee, which we'd love to add to, is listed on the Committee page of our website: http://www.hawickroy...k/committee.asp

In terms of the game, there seemed to me to be plenty of good play and several decent chances plus 3 goals, so we will have to agree to differ. As far as it being chilly, we could not do anything about it being cold, apart from postpone the match.

There'll no doubt be another equally comprehensive report on the Eyemouth match at some point. but briefly, HRA played out of their skins to earn a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes, but a weakened bench led to some lapses in extra time against a team which is challenging successfully for promotion, final score 4-1. Really happy with team spirit and commitment and enjoying watching the Albert being competitive against the best sides in the league. Thanks to Eyemouth for excellent hospitality and good luck to them in their next round fixture.

Next match is at home v Kelso, Saturday 2pm.

Seems not, their prerogative, though. I think the next Friday night match will be v Gala.

Bollocks, was really looking forward to coming along to this with a few mates. When's the next home game for the diary? Was at the game against Preston and the pies, pints and hospitality were great. Good performance from HRA but a loony 'look at me, look at me' ref ruined the game with a sending off. Seems a solid set-up with committed players and management. All the best to the club.

When's the next home game?

They're down to be away to Preston and Ormiston the next 2 weeks, then home to Easthouses on Sat 25th Feb, so as things stand that'd be your first opportunity.

Cheers, appreciated. Have now checked out the HRA link, it's a good site.

Don't want to divert the thread down a tangent, but do Gala have any plans to experiment with Fridays? I remember a year or two back they played a couple of Friday evening fixtures, including a derby v Hawick unless my memory is playing tricks on me, and obviously they face similar conditions to the Albert in terms of Gala RFC next door and a lot of rugby/BAFL people in the town.
