As expected this was to prove a tough test for the lower league team.East Linton started very well and dominated for the first 15 mins without having any real chances.Heriot Vale came into the match after that but again without any chances.EL did take the lead when Jules out muscled two Heriot defenders and rolled the ball into Jamie Jackson who smashed it high into the net from 8 yards.Heriot looked a bit stunned to being behind and tried to lift their game,they got their reward when a long ball was met on the volley from 18 yards.Beauty of a finish from no 10.Heriot did have a great chance to go into the break ahead when it looked like they had scored only for big Fairy to stretch out his size 10 and somehow block the shot.East Linton had a bit if early pressure at the start of the second half and took the lead through Fairy,tapping in from close range.East Linton went further ahead in 60 mins.A well worked move through the middle ended in Bessy chipping it over the keeper.Heriot pushed one more player up front looking to get back into the game.They kept the cup tie alive when no 9 scored from close range( 75 mins). With 10 minutes left East Linton looked to have settled the tie when Fairy headed in from Bestfords corner.Heriot through everything forward for the last few minutes and unbelievably were awarded a goal when the ball came off the bar and landed a yard out from the line.East Linton held on for a very good win against a well organised side.
