Spurs fully deserve 3 points Kelso not testing the gala keeper! Kelso keeper made 4-5 great saves! Both teams trying to play football on a very difficult pitch! All the beat to both teams!

Good report of the game though you forgot to mention the silky ball playing centre half for Gala
Some strange results in the C division today with Gala Athletic and Hawick LR winning especially after St Boswells hammered Kelso a couple of weeks ago.

WRIGHT CUP SEMI FINAL
COLDSTREAM 1-4 LINTON HOTSPUR
A place in the final at stake and both teams started well, fast paced game and alot of early chances at both ends. Alot of dirty tackles from both teams going unpunished in first ten minutes. Coldstream causing problems for set pieces with one cleared off line. Slack defending giving Linton chances but they couldn't take advantage. Opening goal came from Linton player cutting in from left unchallenged and pinging a strike into the top of the net which the keeper I think could of dealt with. Linton hit the bar shortly after then made it 2-0 with a good header at back post. Coldstream pulled one back from a free kick out on the left, swung in and flicked into his own net by Lintons giant midfielder. Second half starts with Linton taking control and stretching the home defence. 3-1 from OG by coldstreams mouthpiece centre half, karma for ripping the Linton OG scorer. Alot of petty kicking out from both teams after the ball played continued throughout game. Both teams looked shattered last 20mins which could explain frustration. Well struck free kick makes it 4-1 in last ten when the wall just opens up for ball to fly into net. Linton reduced to 10men after yet another off the ball incident. More dummies getting spat out after final whistle with the ref flashing his yellow card. Good win in a very scrappy game for Linton

A gala hotspur player not wanting to play at a higher level?Huge shock there.The same thing happens every year with the 2 lower league gala teams.One gets promoted to the B division where they inevitably struggle and so alot of players return to their comfort zone of the C division, leaving the other team to struggle.They ultimately get promoted to the B division and the team in the B gets relegated back to the C.The cycle repeats itself year after year.

i presume you didnt attend the match today hawick dont have a discipline problem now ye we got 2 reds the first for a late challenge when on another day it could have been yellow the second for swearing at the ref the whole problem in todays match was chirnside whole team got involved in that late challenge with punches flying about and our player getting felled and getting kicked in the heed when he was lying on the ground the ref lost the plot

Or you could take it to be a Gala Hotspur player who has played junior level and is now old enough to know that he really is only C Division level and is quite happy being captain there and helping younger players come through. But you are right about the getting promoted and then getting relegated but that is normally due to the players who do well going to 'bigger' clubs and us starting afresh with a new squad of young players.

[/quote]I attended 2 of your games last season bud, and both times you attempted to turn a football pitch into a war zone. The game at your place was unbelievable, with the antics of your sidelines. You really dont help yourselves

Collie Cup Final: Winton 2 Bowhom 3
Well done to Bowholm who took their chances in the 1st half which ultimately won them the game. Winton played the better football and had more possession throughout the game but didnt take their chances. Bowholm centre midfielder scored a screamer of a third goal on the stroke of half time and their keeper had a good game with a few sublime saves. Wintons chances werent helped by a few players not looking at all interested and 1 in particular turning up wasted from the night before, a real embarrasement! Well done again to Bowholm!

Gala Rovers 8 Duns 1
An excellent display again by Gala. Played the ball around well, with a cutting edge up front. Some quality players in all areas. Despite the scoreline, in spells, Duns actually looked quite good going forward, troubled Gala early on & maybe should have scored a couple. Defensively, well, the scoreline doesn't lie. Not defending as a team, slow to react not just in defence but also midfield, a bit one-paced & predictable all over the park. Credit to Duns for not giving up & trying to carry on playing football without letting their heads go down. Some good football on show despite the "gluepot" conditions, credit to both teams. For Duns it's turning into a long season already, as was expected for a new team, just hope we can get a few more results together to stay up & make a better job of it next season.

As I had nothing to do yesterday,I took a run to Peebles to take in Tweeddale Rovers v West Barns,,I watch a lot of football at this level all be it mostly Lothian Ams,to say I was impressed by Tweeddale Rovers is an understatement,,very young,,fit and well organised team playing against a more expierianced West Barns team who were hard but fair ,the game was a joy to watch in the heavy conditions with both teams trying to play good football,and for a change the referee even had a good game,,always reading on here about poor refs,poor teams,,well no complaints yesterday,,it's how amateur football should be played and reffed,,well done both teams!!

CFC BOWHOLM 3,WINTON 2;
Quite a good game once both teams settled,Bowholm were the more clinical in front of goal and this was enough for them to be crowned cup winners,coming from behind to lead 3-1 at half time they naturally sat back and soaked up severe pressure from Winton whos only reward was a goal that could have been chalked off for a foul on the keeper,that set up a nervy finish .Winton deserve great credit for the way they continue to play a passing game when lots of teams would have resorted to route 1 football . The cup final was played with a sporting attitude from both teams and was a credit to the 3rd division
