Irvine

1. It's half an hour to Glasgow on the train

2. The Beach Park area is quite nice, I suppose

3. There are 4 retail parks. A lot of shops for such a small town

4. Quite a few decent pubs/restraunts.

5. It's not Greenock

Surprised you missed out the mighty Meadow Stu. The football team, not me :D

Also fantastic views of Arran, especially at this time of the year.

With a wee bit of investment the harbour area could be one of the nicest in Scotland. Unfortunately the council, past or present, don't sem to realise this.

Kilmarnock:-

1. Decent location. Sandwiched nicely between Ayr and Glasgow and easy access to the coast and anywhere in the central belt. Handy for nights out to both.

2. Great transport links. Half hour to Glasgow on the bus/train, late night buses on a fri/sat night until 4am. Also a link to Carlisle and Newcastle which is handy for a stag weekend.

3. The Killie pie.

4. Home to the oldest professional club in Scotland.

5. Nightlife isn't actually that bad compared to what it was a few years ago. Quite a few decent big bars with a few nightclubs to choose from (as with all West of Scotland towns - choose wisely). A few good restaurants as well.

Melbourne

1. Plenty of different things to do all year round.

2. One of the sporting capitals of the world.

3. Good nightlife.

4. Good shopping.

5. At least we get a proper 4 seasons in the year unlike other parts of the country.
Mon the Gers!
