I'm not the greatest when it comes to computer-related technology so this might sound daft. Got myself a samsung galaxy 10.1 tab. It's pretty much spot on for what I use it for but some websites - this one for example - go straight to the mobile version of the site. Is there any way that I can turn this off so that it goes to the normal version of the site? I've looked under 'settings' and can't seem to find anythiing? Or is this something that I'm just going to have to deal with?

Cheers.

I dont think the default browser will let you override this. I know the Opera browser does, but it can be a bit hit and miss - some sites it works, others it doesnt.

any thoughts on something like this fancy a tablet for the house mostly surfing the web watching occasional bits on iplayer or you tube. I dont want to spend loads as without living with it i am not sure how much use it will get.

That looks like a used version of this..

http://www.amazon.co...36421719&sr=8- 1

Which I bought from Amazon a few months back (it came with Android 2.3.4 but it's the same kit) and apart from it not having GPS (which means no sat nav software or nice things like Google Map locations or Google Sky Map) it has been top notch. From a full charge I can play games and read books and get a good 6 or 7 hours out of it. The tablet itself is surprisingly good quality for the price. The screen is decent, albeit small being a 7" tablet, and the sound is OK if a little odd because the speaker is on the back of the device which means you need a set of headphones or some speakers to get the best out of it. The tablet itself has a pleasing weight to it and the buttons and adaptive capture screen are responsive. It seems powerful enough to run most games (if they don't need root) and 3d performance is surprisingly good for the CPU/Gfx speed. I bought mine along with a keyboard/rest although to be honest install a decent keyboard app (Go Keyboard for example) and you don't really need it and 16Gb of expandable memory which I've hardly used.

Overall? Considering price and the power of the machine? 7 or 8 out of 10.
