Unfortunately I have no family ties with Rennes so this is nothing but anti Irish, anti Catholic hatred on my behalf.

My mate claimed he shagged a french bird after a student party in St Andrews in 1996. She was from a small town somewhere near Montpellier apparently, which is nowhere near Rennes.

Nevertheless i feel this is a strong enough connection for me to wish Rennes all the very best in substantially boosting their goal difference in this week's Europa League tie against Celtic.

I have a friend from uni who is doing a year abroad in Rennes and that is a convenient cover for the real reason why I will be supporting Rennes.

However I feel the fact that Celtic are bigoted c***s is a far better reason.

There may be a Peugeot factory there for all I know but Peugeot is a company based in Sochaux/Montbeliard near the Swiss border. A very long way away from Rennes but good luck to the Bretons anyway.
