Barry saying he still wants to sign a striker. Have to say I wouldn't recognise Dargo if he was standing next to me, but the thought of him signing doesn't give me the horn.

Quite. Milne's a shadow of his former self - if ever he was that former self. I've been really impressed by McMenemin since he came to County. Not the most prolific, but frankly this is a division full of ten goal strikers.
But once upon a time, Milne was a handy player, right?

Yes. In his first spell with us, and for a while with St Johnstone. Other than that, he's been injury-blighted, and/or pish.

A turd of such epic proportions it has to be released in three installments. The first can stand on its own as a complete adventure. The second links to the first, but has a dark, inconclusive feel generating an air of foreboding and leaving itself wide open for an unknown ending. The final chapter has drama, excitement and moments where you think all is lost. A grand battle is waged where good overcomes evil and peace is restored in your gut.

Despite what Jupe says, there must be cause for concern among the Dundee support. One point out of 12 at home - with that point coming against a team that's conceded 13 goals on the road - is horrendous form.

We did all warn you in the summer that Milne was past it. I dunno if you all thought the County fans were on the wind up or something but he is definitely not the player he used to be 5-10 years ago. I predict he'll be playing in Division 2 next year with someone like Forfar, Brechin or maybe even Dundee.

If we sign a striker we won't get relegated. If we sign 2 we'll challenge for the league. If we sign none we'll probably get relegated.

Most of Barry Smiths signings have been crap/slow or injured.....McGregor being the exception........if you sign crap, you will find your level soon enough.

The player cash raised by fans at the beginning of the season is still available.

Dundee should tell the tax man to be a wee bit patient and let them use tax money to buy Wayne Rooney. When they're inevitably promoted to the SPL, they'll easily be able to pay HMRC back.

Falkirk fans, eh? You wouldn't have thought they were on the brink - and still are, from what we hear - would you?

Barry Smith being found out big time. Shite signings, star players gone and no chip on their shoulder this year to cover up the the holes. Only team who I think might save them are Ayr.

Spot on. Think we will finish maybe 8th but the whole point is these players now know they have wages after every game unlike last season where they were playing for a contract, really is pathetic with the lack of passion these players have.

Chuck the two useless strikers we have just now, use that wage to sign someone decent who can partner leighton.
It's hip to be square.

Quite. I realise people go on and on about how tight this league is to the extent that it's a cliché, but if any team that's kicking about in mid-table has three or four bad games in a row they're right in a relegation battle. Take Morton; we've been top of the league most of the season but now we've lost three of our last four games. Not that I think we will, but if we lose three of our next four we could easily find ourselves ninth. It's too early in the season for anyone to declare themselves comfortable, particularly a side as poor going forward as Dundee.

We actually look OK going forward. It's when the ball gets there the problems begin. Milne and Baine are not giving us any sort of cutting edge.
Having seen most of the games this season it's not time for me to start pushing a big red button with "PANIC" on it quite yet. We're playing fairly well and creating chances most games and I've never seen us completely outplayed or on the wrong end of a doing in any games this season.
I think we'll come good and in this league a short run of wins enough to move from the bottom to near the top.

Would be a massive surprise if Dundee went down but simply no chance of it happening. They are hardly miles behind anyone else in fact they are on the same level of points as other teams. If they were even near the bottom by Christmas time the Dundee board will simply spend big time to make sure they are not down there. They have proved they can do this by signing Gavin Rae and there will be a lot of transfer fees being spent by Dundee in January of that I am prtty sure.
What I am curious aboout is if Dundee fans are still holding Barry Smith in such high esteem. Last year he took Dundee on an incredible run of games which led a lot of fans not just Dundee ones to consider him one of the best young Managers in Scotland. While I doubt there is any disenchantment from the Dees about Smith I still think they would have been expecting much quite a bit more from him

Agree with Gus re our performances to date. It's amazes me how fans of other teams make comments like 'poor going forward'. I just don't feel qualified to make these remarks about other teams, I only see must of them 2/3 times in a whole season and I tend to concentrate on my own teams performance.
