Another hat trick for him today, take him to Cyprus, the boy is on fire.

I don't think it will be too long before he goes on to bigger things. It would probably be good to take him a long and get a taste for the senior team get together. I'm sure by the time the WC Qualifiers come along he will be playing in the Championship.
Look at you. You're a slippery genius!

The U21s have a qualifier against Holland. I'd rather he played in that instead of getting on for 20 minutes in a friendly against Cyprus.

Surley it's more important for him to get to know the first team set up and for Levein to get to know him first hand.

If there is a qualifier I would keep him with the U21s to be honest.

Possibly, but there is plenty of opportunity for that in the other friendlies we will no doubt have before the qualifiers start next year. It would be a real boost for us if we could qualify for the European U21s for the first time in a while.

At this rate, I'm actually surprised that the English have decided to let him go to us without them giving any resistance whatsoever.

It seems like another case of a player being overlooked because he hasn't been signed by a big club Premier League club for a big fee. If he had been snapped up by Liverpool for instance, they'd probably end up taking a look at him.

Whether he's England quality or not is debatable, but he looks like more of an out and out goalscorer, which they have lacked at times in recent years.

Anyway, I'd happily take him for Scotland.

Maybe they have sounded him out, but he wants to play for us? He certainly seems committed to playing for Scotland, based on his recent interviews.

I think he does want to play for us, but if England were interested in him, would it be a different story? I'm not sure.

More reason to arrange a friendly pronto and cap him, even if only for 30 seconds.

Playing at senior level in a friendly wouldn't tie him down to Scotland, though. AFAIK, that only happens if he plays in a competitive match.

Aye it was the same in McCarthy's case, he only played friendlie then Scotland decided to try and persuade him. So in that respect, there's no point in giving him a fairly pointless cap in a friendly, when the under 21s need him.

For the record by the time the next competitive fixtures come around, I reckon he will have moved on to better things, or be near enough topping the goal chart in league 1. At which point he can then get his Scotland career starting. He is still only 20/21, there's no pressure on him to play international yet, give him a year or two more to develop and then get him playing. I think it's clear looking at Barry Bannan that playing against the international big guns is tough and in my mind r didn't look mentally tough enough, which is want you want to avaiod with a striekr, cause every game he goes without a goal will get to him.

I think the likes of Rhodes, Forrest, Wilson and Hanley should be used by the under 21s in the next couple of matches; a couple of games against the Dutch U21s would be an excellent experience for them. I can see the argument for integrating them into the full squad, but unless we have serious injuries problems I can't see any of them getting much time on the pitch.

Forrest should never get on the park regardless, he is woeful, almost as bad as Gregg 'one trick pony' Wylde.

No he isn't, don't talk blatant shite. He's keeping, amongst others, Commons, who absolutely destroyed the SPL last year(not that you should need any reminders of that), out of their team, so he's obviously a good player.

He does run like the hunch-back of Notre-Dame though.

Commons is out of the team because he's a fat lazy shit.

Forrest is the only player who has appeared every single game for Celtic this season. He is a very good prospect and deserved to be in the squad for the most recent games, even if his sub appearances were fairly poor.

Absolutely worth taking to Cyprus. 20 mins at the end isn't going to hurt anyone.
