With Romney winning Puerto Rico and Illinois it looks like any doubt whether Mitt will win is over. Now who will be foolish enough to ride on the Romney ticket as VP. I suppose things worked out okay for Sarah Palin getting a large public profile and opportunities to rake in some money.
Personally I think they will try and get Marco Rubio. He fits the bill as senator from a swing state, hispanic and former speaker of the house gives him some good credentials.

GOP have a tough call on that one. They will want someone who is in touch and motivates their base, if the US carries on as is then Obama is likely to walk the presidential election so their main goal with the presedential race will be to mobilise their base out for the other elections that day (Senate, Congress, Gubernatorial and State Legislator). But if they do pick a strong conservative with the reek of the tea party they are liable to alienate moderates and if there is a slump for Obama then a strong conservative VP may lose them the presidency.
They are also desperate to find a female or non white male as two middle aged white guys running for the GOP after that clusterf8ck of a nomination process will mean they are going to play into their own stereotypes.
And the other big headache is offcourse Romney is not a popular person with the conservatives. If they do pick someone with a strong appeal to the moderates are liable to turn off a key part of their base (who will see two RINOs) and could end up losing as many voters as middle ground voters gained. Perhaps even triggering a teaparty or Ron Paul run who will suck up votes a la Ross Perot.
