Now that the season is well underway, it seems a good time to start what is becoming an annual topic about which team will last the longest without losing a league game.

I don't plan to do anything anywhere near as in depth as last season, because quite frankly I can't be bothered. I doubt anyone really needed such extensive updates anyway.

Porto's unbeaten run in the league now stands at 45 games, covering the last 9 games of 09/10, all of last season, and the first 6 of this season. Aston Villa must be contenders for the worst unbeaten run ever, with only 1 win and 5 draws. Atalanta would be top of Serie A if they hadn't had 6 points deducted for alleged match-fixing. Copenhagen already have a 10 point lead after 10 games - I'm sure they ran away with it in similar fashion last season, and didn't lose a game until after Christmas.

Barcelona are the obvious candidates as usual, but Porto and Ajax are also worth a shout.

The list below only includes teams who have played more than 5 league games this season, plus teams from the major European leagues.

Huddersfield are 35 unbeaten or something like that

Caldwell is actually a great centre half however consistency can be an issue for him, technically his distribution of the ball for a defender is as good as Pique or Puyol.

We are away to Man City next in a match between the Premier League's two longest-unbeaten teams (them, April 11th, us, April 30th).

I reckon I can predict which of us lose our unbeaten records... but we will have a chance if Man City get 27 or 28 players injured in the international games.

Actually they lost in the playoffs. What a sham.

Cheers. The full update will be on the way later tonight. I thought I might as well wait until the Monday fixtures were played.

They lost on penalties in the playoffs so i don't know if that counts. They've been unbeaten since boxing day last year over 90 minutes in the league
