Drumchapel will be in there as usual but I agree with poster above, Colville Park for me.

Top 2 in CSAFL are pretty hard to bet against...

Colville Park.

I watched Wellhouse beat Colville Park last Saurday...the game finished 1 each, then went to extra time and pens.
I thought that Colville's MOM was their keeper with 4 or 5 really good saves....so it might be worth keeping an eye on Wellhouse for the Scottish, they're a good side,IMO. ;)

Wellhouse hammered us the other week and are terrific upfront but I think Bannockburn will finish above Wellhouse in their own league this year.
My tip is Bannockburn to challenge Drum and Colville Park and the winner to come from those three.

Wishaw proved last year the winner can indeed come from a lower division.

If recent years are anything to go by then I would say a team from the Central league.

Like everyone we always look forward to the Scottish Cup and always feel like we can give anyone a game. We always said we wanted to play teams from central league as you are testing yourself against the best amateur league. Last season we beat Kilsyth but were beaten by Harestanes 4-2 at their patch. All the Haretstanes players were decent but their Cent back and Jamie Broadfoot (who played for Scottish amateur side) stood out a mile.

We have Riverside from St&D association in the 2nd round so we look forward to playing them as they are a team that we have never faced before and fortunate we have home advantage.

I would like to see an Edinburgh / midlothian team win the Scottish Cup. its been a while 1999 since an Edinbugh side won the cup. But to be fair there doesnt seem a standout team at present or for some while. The Central League is best by far , St Pats, Drumchapel , Harestanes etc etc are a good bit ahead of other leagues. It will be sometime before a East team wins this cup.

Sorry for the delay in my reply mate.

We lost a few players but have brought new ones in.

Fernie play at peffermill playing fields in Edinburgh. Loanhead are meant to have a really good side this season from what I have heard so I would expect a tricky game.

What makes the central league so strong? I noticed from a few of the teams they seem to attract ex pro players and guys who have played with top junior teams through the west.

It would be great for one of the LEAFA based teams to do the business but we always seem to come up short.

Even if you look the Scottish amateur select I think its been a while since a LEAFA based player made the side. I believe a border based keeper made the squad last season?

Hurlford won 8-0 over a team from our league , now whilst they are far from one of the top sides it's still impressive i'll maybe stick my neck out early and say there the team to watch

Read the "Brian Dingwall" thread, on page 16 of the Junior forum just now. There's an explanation of what happened to Eddlewood on there.

Bottom line is guy's whoever wins it needs the luck of the draw both on the day and with getting a home draw. No doubt even the fancied sides who everyone has mentioned on here need the luck somewhere down the line. Last year, we WHSFPs managed to avoid the big guns so to speak ( ie everyone's predictions ) till we got to the last 16 when we faced Harestanes from our Premier Div. After that we got draws we probably would have picked and by that I mean no disrespect whatsoever to the sides we faced and beat as we just wanted to avoid the likes of Drum Utd and Colville Park as we knew they were top drawer as well as avoid them because they were in our Association and the longer it went on, the more chance there was of one of them knocking the other out of the competition at some point and so it proved. We could easily have been put out as early as the 2nd round against Strathaven where we struggled through 3-2 away from home and we got a winner in the final minutes when we would have been happy to take a replay back in Wishaw. These sides CAN be beat but it takes a lot of belief, hard graft and luck on the day to get anything from them. The whole experience last season was suberb and we look forward to it coming round again in a few weeks where we face Gibbshill at home in round 2. We know especially in the Scottish that every side we face will be looking to knock us out and no doubt Gibbshill will be right up for it. Hopefully we can put the experience we have gained from last season to good use and hopefully we can get another decent run. All the best to all the sides setting out on Scottish Cup duty this season.

Pollokprince - cheers mate :)

Gav you know yourself last year that everyone punted for the drum - me included - against you in the final, even when we were doin predictions from 1/4 final onwards no one gave u a real hope. Your right its all about luck.

so good luck in retaining it this year lol.
