Aye, because it's that easy.

Obviously that won't solve all their problems, but will give them more time to play with.

If you can't afford your mortgage payment, and are struggling to sell your house, you don't just decide to pay none of your mortgage.
You pay what you can afford to get more time before you get kicked out.

I haven't felt this good since James McFadden scored against France in 2007

I believe he meant it's not that easy to turn part time. All the players signed full time contracts and I'm sure wouldn't agree to massive wage cuts.

its not that hard tho

partick usually have players on 1 year deals

officially turn part time but promise to honour the contracts of the players

keep those interested at the end of the season etc

Grounshare at broadwood would suit me.

Groundshare with who? Clyde are going to leave, when is still up in the air.

If Thistle have any brains, Broadwood is the last place they should be looking. If 100k per annum is a big loss, the amount you'll give to NLL on rent for Broadwood would probably ruin the club like it's been doing to us over the last few years.

Caldwell is actually a great centre half however consistency can be an issue for him, technically his distribution of the ball for a defender is as good as Pique or Puyol.

Fair enough, but I don't think there's an effort to move part time.

Seems like there is a lot of navel gazing.

Probably selling Firhill will turn into the only option, however you can only sell it once and always run the risk of turning into a Clyde if you can't secure a permanent home.

Scotstoun may be suitable, but if they don't own it then it's possible other uses may be found for it in the future or cost of rent could become an issue etc.

We had at least a dozen players already on deals for this season before last season finished, and tend to have about half our players on 2 year deals and some longer.

I do think most players bar one or two have contracts running out this season.

Not sure if anything's been discussed on a more recent thread; if so, my apologies... but it appears the new Edinburgh Gunners CEO has rather "let the cat out of the bag" even if it hadn't been officially confirmed.

Quote

Dodson has acknowledged the need to provide a better matchday experience for the existing Edinburgh supporters and a greater incentive to attract new fans along - which means getting the team out of Murrayfield and into a more suitable venue, if practically possible.

"This is something we need to look ar urgently because when I talk about pro franchises clearly where they play is massively important" said Dodson.

"Look at what's happened with Scotstoun. Glasgow are going to a new place to play. That's a statement of intent and will be a new birth for Glasgow Warriors.

"We can't find a solution for one and not for the other. We are going to try and find a new place".

Question now is whether they leave next season/theseason after, presumably?

They're leaving at the end of the season. Clicky.

I don't think that our board have said anything concerning this yet, but we're losing something in the region or £100K.

Edit- According to the Evening Times I just read, it's £200K.

I know a poster on here who's knows the person who delivered news to Partick Thistle chairman on Friday that the Warriors are leaving. Think he said roughly £160k is the amount Partick will lose in income.

Nizzy will know my source if any of you are curious.

The Scotstoun pitch is an artificial surface.

You appear to be a fairly knowledgeable man, Ad Lib, but on this point, our survey says...X

The only bit that is artificial is the football pitches at the side. The main stadium surface and the training area between the football pitches and Danes Drive are both real turf.

Good thing the new folk in charge of the Club are managing to post profits for the Club. If it were the old guard calling the shot then part-time would be a certainty.

Just means we need to find around £100k in extra revenue to break even. Hopefully the last two spankings of Ayr and Morton at home will bring back and entice more fans through the gate.

I only wish that they'd change their colours, as, Although I do like Frosties, I refuse to eat them as a matter of principle.

You'd imagine it would be hugely helpful to you though if the Warriors moving into Scotstoun (handily done-up for the Games and after) freed-up the chance to play at Firhill? Otherwise you would likely be looking at a pretty unpleasant option like Airdrie, perhaps Broadwood.

One also assumes, in this Warriors-moving scenario, Partick would be keen for a tenant. Exceptionally limited alternatives after QP.

I see in today's Record (I know) that Thistle are thinking about installing a plastic pitch at Firhill:

http://www.dailyreco...86908-23739319/

If that happens I think it makes it more likely that we will be heading to the north of the city for a year or so.

A synthetic pitch would be hugely beneficial.
There are also rumours of Clyde ground-sharing with us next season before their move to East Kilbride.

The club has already publicly stated that they would welcome Queens Park to groundshare at Firhill and an approach was made a few months ago.

I would like to see that happen. I'd go along to a few QP games as well.

I didn't realise Thistle had gone public with their invite.

If it does happen, I would hope that Queen's offer some sort of deal to Thistle season ticket holders, entry to Queen's games for a fiver or something like that. If Thistle are in Dingwall or Dumfries we might get a few along.

What's the reasoning behind QP moving to Firhill?
