Congrats to any Bama fans around here.

McCarron was the star of the show.

Bama National Champions - no doubt.

Great season for LSU, sad to end it this way, and now to go to work with the Bama fans tomorrow.

Congratulations to Alabama, fully deserved the victory, LSU were hopeless tonight. Just hope a decent QB next season can spark another run...

Without being funny, Luck or RG III would have absolutely dominated tonight.

Awful National Championship game to watch, but got to credit 'Bama's defence.

LSU just shocking, really disappointed

LSU with either of those two would be amazing.

LSU has a top QB sophomore - Zach Metterberger and they just recruited the #1 QB in the country, Gunnar Kiel. Yeah, QB called Gunnar ;-)

New Penn State HC Bill O'Briens contract:

  • 5 years with a base salary of $950,000 with 5% increase each year
  • Regular executive benefits offered by Penn State
  • Additional compensation from TV and radio as well as Nike contract for each of the 5 years
  • Performance incentives not to exceed $200,000 each year

That's an insult. Wonder how much they are trying to rebuild the Penn State football reputation.

Urban Meyer is making 5x more base salary.

Hardly an insult. No big names wanted that gig, a bit of a poisoned chalice if you will. I think it looks pretty generous.
Meyer built 2 success stories at Bowling Green & Utah, then brought Florida back to prominence after Spurrier's success.
Are you insulted by the $950K base or the $5 million base or are you saying O'Brien is getting too much?

Probably to stay in Indiana. He committed to Indiana University but when his big brother didn't get the starting QB spot at IU he de-committed and went to LSU. Easily in the cream puff.

His dad went to ND, its about 2 hours from his home. Mom was not happy with the 12 hour drives to Baton Rouge, heck maybe 14. etc.

I'm going to give the kid a pass, he's 18, and seeing your mom cry because of your decision is pretty rough.

I'm okay with LSU having Metterberger and Stephen Rivers (Phil's little bro).

Plus Stephen and Phil are from our parish in Alabama and Stephen's a good kid.

His legacy will obviously be tainted.
