Thought i would start a new thread seeing as the new season is looming large and teams are begining to finalise their rosters.
Interesting season ahead with 4 Scottish teams now after the Flyers joined the league meaning plenty local games between the Stars, Clan, Flyers and Caps.
Pleased with the Stars roster so far, having signed all our imports and unearthed a couple of potentially quality players in Chris Whitley our netminder and Jarrett Konkle who will hopefully provide a bit of spark going forward, which we so often lacked last season. We have also signed Brennan Turner, a physical D-man who spent some time in the AHL last season. Hopefully we can push on and challenge the likes of Braehead and Hull this season who ended up a good bit ahead of us last year.
How do clan fans think Bannister will do this season? I know they still have a few slots to fill including a netminder, but the signing of Jade Galbraith was certainly a great start to Bannisters job of building the team and a couple more signings like that could see Clan become a real threat.
As for Edinburgh and Fife, i would expect them to finish as the bottom 2 in the league, although i may be wrong. I fancy Fife to cause a few upsets though, especially if they are not going to have plexi glass as rumoured. As for Edinburgh, im not quite sure how they will perform, with them seemingly building around a core of Eastern European imports. I hope they can remain competitive throughout though, as the games last season were no fun at all watching teams rack up silly tallys in what were effectively training sessions.
Roll on September!

Looking forward to the new season as well mate. I live in musselburgh, but im from kirkcaldy originally. I think it would have been the death of senior pro hockey in fife if they didnt go elite. It appears the flyers are taking a risk going with a lower quota of imports than the other teams, but i have faith in dutiame to bring in top imports. Danny stewart has the experience at this level already, and siddall will put the numbers up. We will defo need an import goalie, blair daly is a good stopper, but he lacks the experience of the other brit 'minders such as murphy and lyle. Like you say, i think the stars will have a better start to the season than last, some of ceman's signings were woeful, especially mcmorrow! the clan are looking good, but sadly i think the caps will struggle again. P.S, the plexi WILL be going up at fife, the supports are all in place.

Yup should be great. The Clan made a great signing with Jade Galbraith, great experience in the Elite League and knows how to win things. Will be interesting to see what else Bannister can add to the roster before the season starts.

Got my Clan season ticket and looking forward to the new season. Should be very interesting with the Flyers joining the league. Hopefully the Caps can provide more of a challenge and Dundee look good on paper.
