Do you have details or know where I can find details of who the longest serving managers are in the SFL from longest to most recently appointed.

It provides details of each club on a club by club basis so you'd need to look at each of them and collate it yourself but the info is all there (or should be - it might be missing some changes this summer).

Those are the 30 current incumbents. There doesn't appear to be an accurate date for Harry Cairney's appointment (Annan having been non-league at the time) but I'm sure you have it! Whatever it was he's still 2nd only to Billy Reid in current appointments. None of the SPL managers have been in situ longer either. The longest serving current SPL manager is Derek McInnes who was appointed at St Johnstone in November 2007, a month before Jim McIntyre at Dunfermline.

One thing it does show is the short shelf life of a manager in this country these days. 19 of 30 have been appointed within the last year or so. Only 7 men have had the job they are in for three seasons.

Harry was appointed on 29th May 2006 - interesting stuff, I had a suspicion Harry would be close to the longest serving manager in Scottish Football. I had suspected there were no SPL managers serving longer than him though I wasn't sure about John McGlynn but knew he'd served longer than Brian Ried who played at Galabank in a tournament then brought Ayr down to Annan a season later.

Of no relevance to the original post but I note that there are 9 former Dunfermline players there. How does that compare to other clubs?

Only 3 ex-Bairns - Brian Reid, Pressley, MacNamara.

There's now only three or four ex-Queens players in there (depending on whether or not you count Davie Irons who once played a match for us as a Trialist but was never a signed player). The other three are the two Reid's and Allan Moore.

[King Kong Bundy]

Two ex-Spiders on the list (Paul Martin and Jimmy Boyle). It was as many as five last season with Kenny Brannigan, John O'Neill and Ian McCall still in the SFL.

EDITED - to add Gordon Durie's confirmation as East Fife manager last weekend. I've listed him from his official takeover date, though he's been in caretaker charge since 1st March. The 10 days make no difference to his place in the list anyway.

Yep, spoke to soon about Lennon being about to make it 14, in fact he'll bring it back to 13 again with McIntyre gone. Dunfermline fans generally seem pleased but I have some sympathy for him from the outside. Weakest first division champions in years in playing terms they were always going to struggle big time up a level.

Updated for the departure of Jim McIntyre from Dunfermline. Scotland's 5th longest serving manager goes after 4 years, 103 days in the job.

Edited again to add the appointment of Jim Jefferies at Dunfermline. Slightly bizarre announcement from Dunfermline on Tuesday 20th stating that Jim jefferies will be announced as a manager on Wednesday afternoon. Er isn't that you announcing him on Tuesday then? Anyway, I'll presume Wednesday's date is the official one.

Currently Managerless: Queen of the South

Gus MacPherson has departed Queen of the South today after just over 10 months in charge. Have I missed any other changes in the last month?

An interesting twist on this could be the last time a team sacked a manager? For Saints that would be 4 April 2005. Looking at other teams, Cowdenbeath have lost a few managers, rather than sacked them, Brechin too. Did Airdrie sack Sandy Stewart?

And the problem with that is how many times "sacking" is dressed up as "mutual consent" to suit all parties. You could never be sure.

You could I suppose look at how long it is since a manager departed without being headhunted by another team.
